Hi all I just wanted to see if there was anyone else going to the OCC? My surgery is 10/29 extremely nervous and all is moving really fast after researching for several months and finally getting it done called last Wednesday inquired about cost and talked to them Friday decided to do it. They told me they had opening in 3 wks I explained to her I was currently on leave from work and would be returning to work on November 18, I asked if they had a sooner date and she scheduled me for next Monday. Friday started my 10 day preop diet, needless to say I'm extremely nervous since it's all happening really quickly! 😌 sorry about rambling I've had no one to talk to when I'm nervous I talk 😊

Congratulations, that sounds awesome! Wish I could say the same after this friday, am pretty nervous. Question, if I may, how many incisions did you end up with? Was it all done via your belly button or were additional incisions made? Were you able to be on your own when you got home? I don't have anyone to help out and I worry I may need help. Thanks again for posting and looking forward to hearing how you keep doing.
I was so nervous, but really the waiting was the hardest part, no belly button for me, 5 incisions has some bruising where the plulled the stomach out but. One problem i did have but finally got it handled was a bm, took a little inginuity but that part is behind me now.

Few mistakes i made were trying to drink eat in bed, got out of bed and sit on couch and everything went down way better. I started walking soon after surgery and continued walking quite a bit, really does help with the c02 gas.

Thanks for posting Bill, with surgery coming up this Friday this really helps. Can I ask you how your level of activity progressed after surgery? How soon did you start walking? how often and for how long? Where are you at now? Have you started doing any exercise at all? are you able to? These are all things that are on my mind so any guidance you can offer would be awesome. Thanks again and best of luck.

Bruno DM me. I can be a great deal of help
. I am a 37 yr old male and I live alone... my mom brought me home from surgery and stayed with me till about 10pm the day I was released. She wanted to stay the night but I told her to go home and sleep in her own bed. I've been taking care of myself basically since I was released from the hospital. It's doable. Your not gonna want to leave for I'd say 2-3 days post op. Just rest and let the body heel at home.. Get rid of ALL the food in your house cause u can't even touch any of it for like a month. Stock up on sugar free popsicles, SG free Jello, and SG free pudding. Also buy the genpro unflavored Protein and mix it with the pudding.. You'll be fine on your own unless u have another handicap not mentioned. I went back to the gym and felt good doing so on Day 8 Post op. Try to document as much as u can..also get reading material or find some new shows to leave. Cause it gets really boring at home

I don't even know how to do this :-0. Thanks for the info, it makes me feel so much better. Surgery is in three days, nerves are growing. Unfortunately I live in Spain and sugar-free popsicles and Jello are not really available. I do have a good amount of sugar-free jello I brought back with me. I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time in the US and grew addicted to the sugar-free popsicles, so maybe better we don't have them. I did buy a posicle mold and tried making my own, texture is way off from the commercial ones, I just basically get a popsicle shaped ice cube with some flavor. My doctor did say I would spend the first two nights in the hospital and he won't let me go home unless he feels I am able to. Thank you again, your words comforted me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
