Calling all October sleevers!!

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery on 10/4. I am currently down 14.9lbs. My surgery was not bad at all. When I woke up I literally looked 9months pregnant again because of how much air they pumped into me. That was by far the worst out of the whole experience. I slept pretty much the whole day due to the meds they were giving me. But was able to get up and walk a little. The pain from the surgery didn't hurt or the incisions. The next day they took me off of iv fluids and I was able to walk 3.5 miles that day. And felt much better. Everyday things are easier and gas has started to almost go away. I'm getting about 40oz of Fluid and 60 grams of Protein in now.

That's great! I was up walking same day as f surgery as well but I did have quite a bit of pain. I think most of mine was from the hernia repair. Nothing that was not bearable though.

How about you? Are you getting all your liquids and Protein in?

Thanks!! I get to have Breakfast today and then liquid diet for the rest of the day so it really shouldn’t be bad [emoji4] my only concern is that I don’t forget and pop something in my mouth!

Heyyyyy, all, good morning I am 1 week out and imake down 17 lbs as of 925am .. my surgery was Monday the 2nd at 8am. I had a cool recovery and slept most of the day because of the pain medication and probably the fact that I hadn't slept in 2 day prior surgery, once I was more awake around 3pm that day my son helped me up to go to the bathroom because I had the worst nurse ever!! We accomplished that task and that's when the pain hit OMGEEEEE crazy thing is it wasnt in my actual stomach it was my upper right incision what's up painful however I was so happy that my actual stomach didn't hurt I haven't thrown up I've been able to drink 6 oz of fluids at a time granted I only did it three times a day so I'm tolerating food or the liquid perfectly my nighttime nurse was amazing she actually helped me and cleaned me up and do what she was supposed to do while the daytime nurses forgot my medication and we're nasty making me have to stay in the hospital an extra two days, oh I reported their butts as well I'm going to follow up because nobody should be treated bad because of the color of their skin and that would be the only reason they treated me bad because I'm very kind and I'm respectful to all people. I've been home for the last 4 days and I'm weaning myself off of my pain pills I'm in less and less pain I offered to get her nausea patch and it's been working amazingly leaving me a little drowsy but it's okay I'll fight it I was 330 lb the day of surgery I am currently 313 pounds one week post-op, that's 17 lbs and I'm so grateful. Everything is working out and has worked out great for me and I pray that each and everyone of you have a successful surgery

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
