Anyone try cooking meat in a crock pot for the "soft foods" phase of the diet? I'll be on full liquids for another week, but thinking ahead to give myself as many options as possible. For my program, foods don't have to be pureed if you chew really well. I'm just really looking forward to chewing again and I've always been a slow eater, so I don't think this will be a problem!

I just did this. I put boneless chicken in with a mix of spagetti sauce, diced tomatoes, a few spices and shortened the cooking time to keep it from being too dry. Served my daughter's with angel hair. And i broke off a small piece of chicken for me. It was great.

Great news! I was thinking of doing something similar - I do a crock pot curried chicken with vegetables that my family likes (I make it with coconut milk), I'll just skip the rice.

This homemade sauce might work:

There also seem to be some lower carb choices out there. A quick internet search brought up a few different brands, none that I've heard of, but you might have luck if there's a bigger grocery store near you.

I'm heading out to grocery today and I'll look or give this a try. Great site though! I'm so sick of sf popsicles with their ton of artificial coloring and there's a recipe for sf lemonade blueberry popsicles on this site that I'm going to try!

I personally skipped the soft foods diet. I was able to eat normally so i said screw it, but yes i use a croc pot all the time. Beef works really well, you can it super soft to the point where your new tummy can handle it

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
