My surgeon knows how hard it is to get fluids in right after surgery and he knows nutritional help for healing is non existent because stomach surgery, so he has everyone receive an IV the next day with a Meyers Cocktail vitamin and mineral infusion in it. And if you are local you can come in weekly for more.
If you've been having as hard a time as I am getting enough fluid in, see if you can't find a place you could get a vitamin and mineral infused IV to help you avoid dehydration. I got another today, a week out from surgery, and it helped me feel so much better, and it has to help me heal. I've gotten my protein in for the past two days, but I haven't met my water needs yet. This will really help, and I feel better already. I plan on doing it once a week until I am getting all my fluids in orally. Today the place I found did it for $150 which is less than the food I would have eaten all week would have cost, right?
