any November 2017 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I had my surgery, the first few hours were rough. Nausea from the anesthesia was rough and the gas pains were no joke. I tried to walk a few minutes every hour from about 5 hours out of surgery on and it helped. My surgeon is against using gas-x so I was not allowed to use mine. I passed the barium swallow and now I need 3 consecutive hours of drinking and keeping down 4 oz of either Water, broth, crystal light or Protein Drink. So far so good [emoji6]

Have a great day!

Hi everyone! I am having the sleeve done on November 29th. I'm on a 3 day liquid diet until then. I'm 58 years old, 203 pounds and 5'1". I'm very excited about it, but admit I'm a little nervous. Any advise?

I've been scrolling this the forum for the last week, before I scheduled my surgery day. It has been very encouraging and supportive to read through all of the stages people are in. I will be here, be sure to reach out to me [emoji4]

Hi Lina!

I had my sleeve done 11/22 and have been recovering since then. I'd be happy to share some advice!

1) It's really important to consume as much liquid (and protein) as you can after surgery. Stay on top of Water and Protein Shake consumption every hour, even though you may feel like sleeping all day.

2) Follow your doctor's plan very closely. That's what matters most.

I'm having my surgery on the 28th but I don't have to go on all liquids

Got sleeved today!! I had the absolute best OR staff, the last thing i remember before anesthesia is one of the nurses saying you are in really great hands which really relaxed me. Im also very thankful for IV pain medicine. I've been up and walking around as much as I can tolerate. I was only allowed ice chips today that have made me feel sick lately, so I'm nervous for Protein Shakes tomorrow. Also, I don't recommend hiccups the day of surgery [emoji23]

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
