Anyone sleeve the week of 6/25?

Recommended Posts

Anyone sleeve the week of 6/25? I had my surgery on 6/27. How are you all doing? I'm at the phase of eating mushy foods and tolerating Protein Shakes. Definately a learning process. Down 7ish lbs. Curious about everyone else. Btw Dr wizman was the surgeon at coral springs mc.

I was the 27th as well. Still dealing with pain but having a real hard time getting Water or anything in. Can only do an ounce at a time and it take awhile. I think I'm also having lots of gas issues. It's so hard to get the fluids down. Starting Protein Shakes tomorrow and kinda scared.

Well it feels good to know I'm not alone. I felt depressed for the 1st 2 days, pretty bad, felt like I made a mistake. My outlook has changed since then. This forum has helped a lot by reading and seeing I'm not alone.

Cold liquids cause me to have stomach pains, not sure if pain is a good word, it feels like preop when your super hungry, like a strong grumble.

I can eat but I have to eat slowly, like really slowly. A yogurt can take me 15min.

Had surgery on the 28th I was the last one that day so didn't get up into a room until 9pm. Still at the hospital battling high blood pressure and low potassium. First 2 days were extremely difficult. I am feeling much better like I just got over the surgery hump. I taking liquids fine today I start full liquids. Hoping I will be discharged to day however just woke up to half of my face swollen. Need to figure. Our what that's about. Wishing everyone here a speedy recovery.

Pillows pillows pillows. That's how I did it. My incision is on my right side and that's the side I sleep on. Wasn't able to sleep on that side till day 7 but used a pillow to relive the pressure. I'm nine days out now. Getting better. Sleeved on 6/22/17

I had Gastric Bypass on June 27. I don't have any problems getting fluids down.

My Dr has me drink one oz of Water every fifteen minutes. I look forward to the 1oz of cream of wheat and pudding. I don't think I get hungry it's probably head hunger. I am adding more 1 oz Protein Shake shots today.

My pain is mostly from gas. I hope my surgery worked. It's weird that I am not experiencing what everyone else is.

Is anyone else getting their fluids down no problem?

I had sleeve on 6/27. So far, no issues. Liquids go down easily and I even have some "mind hungry". I was up on the first day and I am taking 3 15-minutes slow walk a day. Still concerned that I will be hungry all the time, as I did not expect it on day 5. But optimist that it will work well.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
