I've been buying and stocking up on Unjury unflavored and chicken broth flavored powders and Premier shakes in all flavors. Also different variety of broths, sugar free jellos and Popsicle. Just want to have everything and different options since I heard some flavors and brands may be hard to tolerate after. I haven't' bought any Vitamins yet. Have my pre-op upper GI, labs and class on the 12th of this month. Want to talk to them more about the best of the best. My body deserves the best and want to make sure I choose right. Was thinking about BariMelts brands- whats y'alls preferred brands? :)

I did get myself this adorable portion Yum box. Perfect once I'm in the Puree and on stages. I'm worth it!

I ordered it off Amazon. There called yum boxes. I thought it was cute. Nice small compartments.

Ive bought a water bottle, Protein Powder, sugar free Jello, pjs, slippers, veggie broth and that's really it. I buy a pack or two of Protein Shakes on every payday to stock up a little bit.
Oh, I also bought those colorful popsicle things^. I think a lot of the other stuff, I'll pick up afterwards. The Vitamins I bought didn't have enough zinc for my nutritionist's taste, so I have to finish them and buy new ones.

A lot of my stuff I ordered from Wal-Mart and had it delivered. I hate going in the store unless I have too.

Hey guys! My surgery date is July 7th. I just finished the last of my clearance items, but the only thing that's nerve wracking to me is I'm still waiting on insurance approval. They don't even submit to insurance until about 1 month before, which I think is pretty crazy. I'm terrified something is going to happen and I'm going to get denied, because I've already gotten everything ready through work to take off (which was a huge hassle and they weren't happy about it), and I've gathered a whole bunch of supplies! Everyone at the surgeon's office keeps telling me not to worry and that my insurance usually isn't a problem for it, but I'm just nervous because I'm still at the lower end of the weight spectrum for it (weight 228, 5' 4.5", BMI 38ish, high blood pressure). I hope it will all be okay, but I'm not going to relax until I hear the official okay. Did anyone else's surgeon do it this way?--not submitting until about a month before and after all the clearance stuff was done??

I first saw my Dr at the end of March and 3 weeks later I was approved. I'm a cancer patient in remission so I've been very active in Drs appts because of related issues. My surgeon is sought after her in SC so I have to wait until 7/19. I wasn't told I needed to lose weight but I know in my heart that I have to lose weight so why not start now. I will have a 2 week liquid diet aka liver reduction prior to surgery so I will lose more.

Start stalking up on stuff that will see you through. Also, if you're on FB, do yourself a huge favor and join the bariatric groups. They offer so much inspiration, recipes, the dos and donts and make friends with others like us that knows your journey ahead. Wait until you see the before and after pics!!!! I love these groups!!!

Im going July 31st, I hear alot of you guys talk about the diet before hand! I never knew I even had to do one can anyone fill me in on that?

Yo only need a pre-op diet if the doctor orders it. It is to shrink your liver so your surgery can be performed. I don't have a pre-op diet. And I'm also July 31!! Where is your surgery?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
