How long did it take for your insurance to approve you?

I've already been to the Nutritionist, Psychologist and had labs. I have an appointment with the cardiologist on the 25th & an appointment with Endo on the 30th. After that I'm DONE! (My wallet will thank me). So my question is - Once you were done, how long did it take for your insurance to approve you? I have a hospital-based insurance so I hope it won't take long.

Mine took 5 days, and I was asking them everyday for an update. I think they may have approved just to get rid of me.

Once I got the approval I had them email me the letter so I could it on to my surgeon just to speed up the process a little bit. I'm too impatient to wait for the mail.

I have BCBS PPO Texas and it took 4 days after i did my Sleep Study, nutrition (over phone), Psy-eval (over phone). It was quick. I do have BMI 36 and Sleep Apnea.

I have blue cross blue shield of Massachusetts and they took about 3 weeks. After the appointment with my surgeon, his schedulers make the appointments 4 weeks for everyone who sees him that day out as a default, even if you're approved sooner. My surgeon met with 4 people as group and then we all see him one on one and get scheduled for the same block of surgery times unless he finds a complication.

I've heard that the Tufts health plan is difficult to be approved for and their evaluation is lengthy so it always could be worse. Good luck!
