5 days post-op and no weight loss

I'm 5 days post-op and I haven't lost anything yet. Is this normal? How much weight did others lose the first four weeks post-op?

Yeah it's normal. I didn't start to lose weight until week 2. Just try and focus on the nutrition and fluid intake. You'll start to lose a few. Also take some body measurements. Likely your body is already changing but you haven't noticed yet.

Give it some time. I'm one month out today btw and experienced the same as you my first week.

It's completely normal. You were probably pumped up with IV fluids while in the hospital, plus you're body is working on healing itself right now.

I came home from the hospital weighing more then when I went in. It's probably fluid. Give it time. I lost 23 since surgery on 4/13.

Stay away from the scale! I know easier said than done. I had the same experience. Surgery takes a lot of your body, hormones of inflammation make you retain water, in addition to the IV fluids you likely got while hospitalized. If you're doing everything you should be the weight will begin coming off before you know it!

Don't freak out!! Your body is in shock. You just had an organ removed and you are now healing. You will swell, retain water and your body is trying to heal itself. Don't fret. :)

I was just wondering what others had lost each week for their first 4 weeks.
