What the heck is wrong with me???

Recommended Posts

Carbs are sliders. There is practically no restriction with those. You've just discovered why many people don't have success with this.

I'm sorry you are going through this and I'm sorry to say it may get worse from here.

I hope I can help- maybe not now but down the line.

The reason you ate those things is because a person and a body can only white knuckle dieting for so long. Our bodies don't like being under fed. Your body took advantage of the situation to get some much needed fuel. You've lost so much so fast- you are in starvation state. That's what your bodies knows. Your body doesn't know you are under feeding it on purpose.

I know you will go back to your post beach day diet. That's fine. But if you continue to have this issue I hope you will pm me. I can hopefully help you.

I live by the rule of following my protocol to a T most days and every now and then I just allow myself to eat something decadent. Of course, I'm not "lucky" enough to not have dumping syndrome. Lol! I'm not sure if it's because of my gall bladder being removed or the VGS but I can get very ill post eating even from something innocuous like low carb chili if I have more than 5 oz. lol! But every now and then I have chips or some ice cream and I don't punish myself. I'm working hard so I CAN have those things every now and then.

I'm so disappointed in myself! For 3.5 months I've eaten so well, counted every carb and stuck to my diet with little to no problem.

Just like you were able to stick to a strict diet before WLS?

It's quite common for people on a diet to "fall off the wagon". In fact that's what usually happening with a very few exceptions.

What might hopefully be helping is working out a plan that actually works long term for you (regardless of what other people might be thinking what should be right for you).

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
