Does anyone want to do a 5k with me? Lets put this in perspective. It is only 3 miles. This is a long workout on your treadmill! :( It is on 3-14-09. Here is the link:

http://www.ultrafit-usa.com/beerathlon5k09_template.html

Its in Dublin off Sawmill and 270. I am not a runner! I am looking for people who will walk it with me. I can do a mile in about 17-19 minutes to let you know how fast I walk. If you are a runner and want to do this and wait for the slow ones at the finish line...I would love to Celebrate with you too!!;)

This is a goal I have set for myself and since this is in familiar territory for me, I thought it would be a great place to start! Anyone up to trying it with me?? :D

My name is Ginny and my email is ginnee25@yahoo.com or you can find me on www.myspace.com/downtownginnybrown

I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in this race or one that may come up later.

Im sorry, I dont get on this bored much... but I love to scrapbook but dont do it often! If you have another event or want to make one... call me or email me! :(

893-2464 or ginnee25@yahoo.com

I have found a great place to go in Grove City. It is a big store with everything you need. They open a tab for you while you scrapbook and even provide food on certain nights. Its been a lot of fun to go there. www.redletterjournals.com Let me know if you are interested in hosting an event for that? They fill up pretty quick.

~Ginny

;) I really didn't get any interest from either calls or emails to the scrapbooking event and demonstration of how to build an album of our weight loss journey so I've cancelled what I had planned to offer on January 10 at 10am at my church and I'll see you guys at the Polaris get together.

If anyone is interested in just a small group of scrapbookers getting together, PM or email me and I'd gladly host it.

Dude you don't just come here and say wish you were staying in Columbus to have it done and then not tell us where you are going to get it done!

We all want to know!

And welcome. You'll have to meet with the group at Polaris. Next meeting is March 14th, food court, we're the happy people with the balloon.

Okay, Special K and Heather are always there and they'll pop on here in a minute to give you the real scoop.

Welcome Kimberley-- nice to have ya! We have some folks who join us on the monthly Polaris mall get togethers we have in the food court who have either gone to Detroit or Cincy to Dr. Curry for self-pay. They seem to be doing great. Next get together for pre-band or post bandsters is March 14 2-4 pm Polaris mall food court and we sit in the area by the Chik-fil-A and Great Indoors. We usually try to have a balloon to mark our location but there usually isn't any trouble finding us. Bring a guest if you want the first time if you have any concerns about meeting strangers off the internet for the first time but we're all a good supportive group.

Hi all-

I've not been on the forum for a few weeks. But to update, I had my consult w/Dr Curry and crew on March 4th. Spent several hours at their facility making the rounds with the psychologist, the nutritionist etc. Got approved for surgery and am now on day 3 of my pre-op diet. Surgery is scheduled for April 20. Trying to focus on just one day at a time. Feeling positive!

We haven't mentioned it on here for awhile and perhaps we have some newbies reading here but I did my first consignment gig with the Just Plus consignment store out on Brice Rd. between Livingston and Main St. and am thrilled with how this is working out. I took in about 25 items in early March and went back yesterday and found out that most of them had already sold and I had $99 to spend in their store to buy more smaller size items or they would give me the cash outright. I was able to buy 2 pairs of summer capris, 2 pairs of shorts, and 2 nice blouses for $48 total including tax and got to walk away with $50 plus a bag full of clothes for my vacation. They seem to be really fair in how they deal with you.

Heads up -- it takes about 3 months lead time to get an appointment to do consigning with them because the shop is so busy but its worth it to get your items cleaned, checked for stains/rips and repair, and have it on hangers ready to go before you take it in.

They don't accept alot of Blazers or Jackets as in formal work wear type things because they have found for their store they just don't sell/move off the racks quickly enough so if you have those items, you'd have to consign somewhere else.

Last, my good friends that I have met through the lapband boards turned me on to the use of Thrift Stores and my favorite is GoodWill stores because they pull the Plus Sizes out onto a separate rack so that helps me find what might be possibilities faster than at other thrift stores that just put all white blouses

together, all jeans together, and you have to look through all of them to find a plus size item. Either way, its a bargain well worth doing the hunting for and the quality and style are good in both consignment and thrift stores based on my experience.

Hi Have not checked in in quite awhile just thought I would say hello. How is everyone doing?? You are doing great Kathy.....My ticker has not been updated but, I have now lost a total of 116LBS. Slow and steady. I tried on a pair of my friends jeans (size 11/12) and they fit!!!! I was so excited..Much better than a 22/24. Bought a concert Tshirt Size. XL (my last one was a 3X) I am so glad I made the band decision. I am much healthier and looking great as well....I will try and post more often. Off topic question: Can anyone make patchwork clothes (dress) or know of a book that can teach me?? P.M. me if you do please. Keep being losers

P.S. As another option, there is another consignment shop just off Refugee Rd. On Sedalia, it is called Clothesline plus. you can go in anytime and consign. Clothes just need to be clean and folded. They are really nice in there. You consign for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months you get a check but, anytime before that you can buy off your credit. I just got a check for over $80.00. (I had bought a few tops) Taking more stuff there today :wink2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
