NA'ers?
Hello, Sure not much activity around here....I just found this thread. I am very excited to have done so. I will be celebrating 5 years on 8-2-09. I have been banded for 1 1/2 years and am doing great. Very few ppl know I had the band done. NA around here (columbus, ohio) is like high school. clicks and gossip abounding. I hope this thread gets more active :frown:

N E 1 been Banded at Mt. Carmel col, oh
Hi all. I am back to see how everyone is doing. It has been a long time. I have been on vacation twice and been super busy when I am home. I have now lost 118# I am looking and feeling great. I am so happy everyone is still losing great. Special and Greg big thumbs up to you both. :thumbup:Flordiainohio, I had Dr. Miller and Dr. Choban they are both great. Dr. Miller is not great on a bedside manner, but he is a great Doctor. Plus, he has an east side office and is easier to get an app. with. I have found a great excercise. I now golf!! quite a bit too. It is very good for the "hate handles" I do not love them so I refuse to call them "love handles" lol....I have not had a fill in about 4 months and am doing fine without one. When we were in Flordia to visit my fil, he told me it was not worth buying me food. I am still not quite sure how to take it. We went to a lot of resturants that I could not really eat much at, grease and whatnot and it was about TOM and that always makes me tighter. Well, I am done yakking/typing for now. I will try and check in more often. Take care. Katie

NSAIDS after lap band surgery?
My surg. has told me that the only NSAID that was allowed after the band is Celebrex. I started it just a few months ago and it does wonders ( I have Fibro and other back issues.) I started it when I was about 1yr out from SX. Hope that helps.

Hi Have not checked in in quite awhile just thought I would say hello. How is everyone doing?? You are doing great Kathy.....My ticker has not been updated but, I have now lost a total of 116LBS. Slow and steady. I tried on a pair of my friends jeans (size 11/12) and they fit!!!! I was so excited..Much better than a 22/24. Bought a concert Tshirt Size. XL (my last one was a 3X) I am so glad I made the band decision. I am much healthier and looking great as well....I will try and post more often. Off topic question: Can anyone make patchwork clothes (dress) or know of a book that can teach me?? P.M. me if you do please. Keep being losers P.S. As another option, there is another consignment shop just off Refugee Rd. On Sedalia, it is called Clothesline plus. you can go in anytime and consign. Clothes just need to be clean and folded. They are really nice in there. You consign for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months you get a check but, anytime before that you can buy off your credit. I just got a check for over $80.00. (I had bought a few tops) Taking more stuff there today :wink2:

No more favorite foods?
I can eat the crispy corn ones. I can eat tostadas from Taco bell. I open up a cheesy beef burrito and empty it onto the tostada and eat it like that. Takes about 15 minutes to eat. you really need to take your time when you eat. very important!! I can eat bagels though, does that help you?? just about 1/2 one at a time. but, it is yummy. :tongue2:

No more favorite foods?
I have been banded for 1yr and 10days. I can eat almost anything, except for eggs (weird, I know) white bread (whole grain is fine) and tortia(sp) wraps and roast beef. However, I can eat egg bread (french toast) I am fine with a little rice and do great with steak and popcorn. Burgers taste gross to me now from fast food places. I eat the inside of the subs and maybe 1-2 bites of the bread, If it comes with bread, I usually disregard the bread. I would rather use my stomach space on "real" food than bread. I am in my sweet spot and eat very little at meals. I have lost 100lbs and am feeling great. I used to love buns and bread and burgers. I do not miss them at all. Basically, when you get on solids it is trial and error, and then when you get adjusted it is more of the same. Days will vary on what you can and can not tolerate. stress and period time makes my band very tight and I switch to liquids and mushies. I find it really helps me.

N E 1 been Banded at Mt. Carmel col, oh
Hello All.... I just thought I would check in. Everything is going well with me. Losing slow, but, still losing. I have found a new shampoo that works great. My hair does not fall out anymore. ( I have really thick hair and have always had issues with it coming out.) It is called Sunsilk anti caida (yes, that is spanish) it means anti fall.... I bought it and the 27/7 cream at Flower Factory. It can also be found online at drugstore.com, otherplaces as well. less than $4.00 a bottle and works better than all the expensive stuff I have tried, even the bio stuff. Glad to see (hear) all the new people. Good luck. And be the best loser you can be. lol Take care.

:thumbup:Angie* that is super you got your drain out and that you are eating mushies. my dh used to make me shepard pie(?) I think that is what he called it. yummy. meatloaf and mashed potatos blended together. he added more, but, would not tell me. I am a very picky eater!! Congrats on the 21+ loss. your doing great. I am going out of town today, and I only have 1 pair of jeans that fit at this time. So, I told my dh he has to take me to a thrift store and buy me at least 1 pair. lol.....nobody seems to want to get clothes right now. I have over 100+ items to sell/get rid of. Kathy* welcome to the world of restriction!! eat slower. eat 1 bite and wait 1-2 min. then try another bite. wtb on passing the 50lbs mark. Niki* see you in a few weeks. (we are on the same fill schedule) Lyn* your doing great. hang on until you get a fill. It will slowly get easier. one more thing. I had an awesome nsv last night. I (yes,me) fit into a size 20 tankini top!! I look hot now. I actually looked into a mirror while I was wearing it. (I bought it in May, and I had no chance in getting myself in it at that time. lol) keep being losers!!

Special K, I am tired all the time. I am almost always napping by 2pm. (sometimes sooner) and in bed by 11pm. I was told it is because of my fibromyalgia flare-up, But, I am waiting to see what my blood has to say. Maybe if you have fibro, the stress could be making you have a small flare-up. just an idea. Hope you start feeling more energetic soon.
