I was frustrated at the time with all the work I had to do and waiting I had to do and hoops I had to jump through pre-op, but I feel very thankful for them now. Not saying I'm never ever gonna be frustrated by my perceived (lack of) progress but being mentally prepared for the journey has helped a lot so far. I didn't sweat my three week stall at all. I bet it helps for me to have had a five year journey of trying desperately to lose weight and working REALLY hard and only losing minimal amounts of weight even with a lot of concerted effort. Two pounds a week to me feels like a miracle!

And you were/are very informed too...that's what a lot of people aren't. Individuals must educate themselves and learn the ups and downs and be okay with them. I'm happy for you hon!

I have been trying to find this diet that a person on this web had sent me,But have not found it anywhere. If anyone knows about this diet please let me know,I have been gaining weight like crazy and I have kept my weight off for 17 yrs,Now it has just been crazy,I have exercised,I run 5 miles a day used to do 10.But I am 68 now.Excercise at the gym 5 days a week and my pouch is still small !! Doctors have no idea what's up. I guess I am to old of a vet to get on the vet page on this site. But I really would love to get the diet that this person sent. Thanks so much

For all the exercise, you're probably not eating enough. Gotta find the right balance.

Men don't care what tits look like as long as they can touch them. Physically my breast do no bother me, especially since they are much lighter.

This has NOT been my experience. I've had terrible breasts my entire life - nipples pointing down, one breast a full cup size bigger than the other - and I've seen the disappointed looks when the bra comes off. For years I wanted breast surgery to lift and correct my breasts, but my weight always prevented me from doing it. Since I'm a definite pear shape, I was never "big" to begin with, only getting up to a D at my highest weight (maybe a little larger for the bigger breast). I'm already down to C (and also down a full band size) and I imagine I'll get back to my 'normal' B size once I get closer to goal. When it comes to getting plastics, I probably won't get any surgery on my thighs (I never wear shorts or anything like that), but my arms and breasts will definitely need some work. However, I'm only at the beginning of this journey, so I have a long ways to go yet. Who knows what I'll feel like a couple years from now?

Well, some people are #$%^&%$#.

I'm not sure what are you are but the older men get, the more grateful they are. LOL

I've been fortunate that my boobs stayed full. I was a 44G/H and until a couple months ago i was a 34G/H...... Last month i went to my favorite boutique and measured at 32GG....

My boobs have disappeared! Before surgery I was a 40DD, I'm now a 34/36 C. Sadly the bulk of it is saggy stretched out skin. I can literally fold them into a cup it's so pathetic. I do plan to get implants someday. Bra shopping is a tear inducing experience. Nothing fits right. Too much skin and not enough firmness.

I'm honestly scared to lose weight in my boobs. Not because I can't afford it size wise - I'm a DDD, but because they're already shaped like saggy watermelons (nipples point to the ground) and the more weight I lose in them, the more they'll look like inflated animal balloons that have been left in a hot car too long. emoji52.png

I definitely feel your pain! I always tell my friends that your nipples shouldn't point to the ground, but mine definitely do too! LOL! I was a 40DDD before my sleeve, and now I am a 38D. They have deflated even more. Its ridiculous. I really don't want to have to have surgery, but I have considered it. I don't want implants though. I just want them to be lifted so they aren't looking down anymore. LOL!!

I always say that I live in the wrong country only because my boobs don't salute the flag, they bow to a king.

Im starting to notice the boobs are deflating and im only 6 days out.I am happy at the changes in my body and no matter what the scale reads I going to be happy that it didn't rise. If it rises, i will regroup and trace my steps back to what caused it. It's the climb like Miley Cyrus sings about.

That is hilarious (and sad of course!). If this is a contest for the worst boobs, I am definitely in the running! One of mine is twice as big and the other (and it bows to the king) and the other is more pert and facing a bit straighter out. Who;s gonna love these lopsided boobs?! And I know there is more to come because I havent really lost that much weight yet in the grand scheme of things. I will wait and see what tomorrow brings but it aint gonna be pretty!

Bahaha exactly. No matter what happens, the outcome won't be pretty for me either.
Just to boost you a bit, my husband loves my saggy droopy sad boobs. He doesn't want me to get a lift when all is said and done. He says they're squishy and fun. So no worries @casselliot, someone will adore them

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
