You lucky thing - I'm still to see the surgeon and get a date.

YES it is normal - this is a major event. I read somewhere one lady said that after her wedding day this was the most important day of her life.

Wher is Oz are you - I'm in Sydney - there are quite a lot of Aussies hanging out here.

:hungry:

Hi,I'm scheduled for October 30th as well and feeling all the things you mentioned. Nervous, scared and excited. Any advice on how to prepare?

Im in Melbourne,

Mscas3 ive just purchased 3 books from amazon that will hopefully help me to prepare myself mentally as the big day approaches,

1. tHE emotional first+aid kit, A practical guide to life after bariatric surgery

2. Laprascopic Adjustable Gastric Banding

Achieving Permanent weight loss with Minimally invasive surgery.

3. Lap Band for Life, The complete patient guide to success with lap band

Goodluck on ur surgery date,, hope all goes well for the both of us...

Thanks Gianak! I'm in the USA in Massachusetts. I will look for the books. I am also trying out the protien drinks in preparation for the liquid phase of things. Little by little and day by day we are getting there! We will both begin our new life on the same day! Best to us both! I'll be looking for you on the site as we go through this together!

I don't know how I missed your post! I always try to welcome the Aussies!!

Welcome to LBT Ginaki!!

It is totally normal to have mixed emotions about any major surgery. Just try to relax in the next couple of weeks, and prepare as best as you can for the upcoming op.

Again, welcome!

HI Chickie, thanku for the welcome... actually u were one of the first to welcome me about a month ago, okay,, thought i'll let everyone know that I start tony ferguson diet on the 16th october , The surgeon mentioned Optifast but i already had tony ferguson diet sitting in the cupboard (cause that was my next attempt at weightloss):heh: so he said i can take that but not to expect much of a weightloss with that than what i would have with optifast.......

Well I saw the doctor today - didn't get a date as the regular secretary is on holidays, but when she gets back will be given a date.

Yes unfortunately my dr wants me to try to stick to it for 4 weeks - depending on what date I get. I bought some of their Meal Replacement bars, thought I might work my way into it gradually - just 2 meals a day until I find out my date.
