Omg my fat friends are worse than my skinny bitch friends...wtf

  • Popular Post

I'm just venting.

Lately all of my heavy friends that know i've had my sleeve are irritating the living **** out of me. They all know i'm working really hard on losing weight. They all know i'm not big on eating out anymore because it's a complete waste of my time and money.

But yet all they want to do is ask me to go out to eat more unhealthy **** with them. I realize that they don't get it. But it's beyond annoying. I wish they would understand that i don't need to do that anymore.

Side note: one of my other friends sees me with my shakes now so she started to do them too. She hasn't quite figured out that it's not going to work for her if she just eats junk food for the rest of the day and doesn't exercise.

Sorry for being so bitchy. Can anyone relate??

Sounds to me like fat or skinny they were not friends at all. Wild man once told me if you can Count your true friends on one hand you're lucky but usually you can cut for those fingers off.

I think in situations like this there are a few obvious things in play. The first one is that there is an established social order in this particular click of women. That is, this group of women socializes by going out to eat and that is no longer something that appeals to you. Second, you, knowing how painful it is to be very overweight in a culture that doesn't allow women to a joy to have body variety, in addition to whatever torment the individual holds that causes them to over eat to the point of becoming unhealthy, you represent the trigger. You have taken redemptive action that takes a great deal of courage, and your friends aren't there yet. Can you imagine how triggered they might sometimes get to see you accomplishing what they perhaps dream of doing? Most people do not have the skills to express their emotions lovingly when they hurt. Maybe be a little easier on yourself and your friends and invite them to do something that they can physically handle that does not center around food, or, begin finding yourself a new group to hang out with that is more active. Or both! Best of luck.

I don't know.. I guess I don't understand why going out is so taboo.. you have to eat too! My family went out to celebrate an anniversary during my full liquid week. I ordered hot tea and milk. Had a nice chat, and other than telling the waitress I was on a special diet, there was nothing weird.

Perhaps the difference is I live with 6 other people. I'm constantly surrounded by food that I can't eat. A restaurant is no different.

I would LIKE those around me to change and get healthy.. but it is their choice. I changed for me. They have their own journey to make. If I become a b****, I do believe it will be counter productive.
