Speaking of LSD, have you ever heard of Ergot? It's a type of fungus that parasitizes grain. It's chemically identical to LSD and can cause halucinations, convulsions, everything that LSD does. They think it's what might have caused the Salem Witch Trials.

I always get laughs out of my students when I tell them about Ergot. It's about the only thing that can make the fungi lab interesting.
