Good job jobey [emoji106]
My insurance requires 6 mos minimum before surgery
I'm not losing weight at all despite proper eating and exercise
I'm in my 3 mos
Praying that insurance will accept my surgery
Does post op hurt???[emoji22][emoji22]

How you feel post op depends on you, your surgeon and just general luck. I was really lucky and had no complications [emoji4] I did the liquid diet for 2 weeks, then puréed for 2 weeks and was then cleared for regular food.< br>
When I first woke up I felt pretty ordinary and they wouldn't let me drink anything. I also vomited a couple of times, which was a little scary. But I figured out it was the anti-nausea meds that were causing it, weird I know.

My right side incision and whole right side were pretty sore for about 2 weeks and I took lots of naps. But after about 2.5 weeks I felt pretty good. Being around people who are eating is weird when you're on the liquid post op diet. You don't realise how social eating is until you can't. Even though it was hard I used to try and go and sit with my family at meal times.

Then the challenge is figuring out what full feels like, I get the hiccups and feel a little gross. I know it's time to stop then. Since the surgery I've vomited once from over eating and I got the warning signs and ignored them.

The best advice I can give is, figure out what full feels like and stop when you get there and take the pain meds during the first week post op. Good luck guys, you won't regret it! I've found the benefits far outweigh the risks and the things you give up. It just becomes your new normal [emoji4]

You look awesome.
Those pictures are incredible.
My wife and I are in the process of getting gastric sleeve.
I keep going back and forth on whether or not I will get it.
My wife is full steam ahead and on pace for surgery in April.
Mine won't be until August.

Getting it done with a partner would be great and you'll save so much on food cause a single serve will do for both of you eventually. My partner and I rarely go out for dinner or any kind of meal now as it can be really difficult at first. But I went out for lunch with my family yesterday and did really well and really enjoyed myself.

So you've given me new resolve to try and fix that [emoji4]

Cool, glad to hear it.
I have numerous reasons to get sleeved, but I am scared.
My health is pretty bad and I have two young kids.
I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old.

Not trying to sound unfeeling but why are you scared?? Is it going under a general anaesthetic?? Or other reasons. I was scared too, but I think it was just of the unknown.

I was also a high risk patient as I had a BMI of 40 and I have Lupus. I was on 10mg of Prednisone (an immune suppressant) when I went under but it was do this or risk heart failure and die.

And if you're wife goes first you'll have her to lean on and also tell you what to expect, in a general sense as everyone's different.

Yes, being put under scares me.
I have had surgeries before, but I have never been comfortable with being put under.
I am always afraid I won't wake up.
My BMI is 56
I have high blood pressure
Sleep apnea
Fatty Liver Disease
Chronic back pain
Fatigue
Depression
Low self esteem
I need to lose roughly 200 pounds.
I am 6 foot 1 and I currently weigh 420 pounds.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
