Yesterday was my birthday. Today a bunch of my friends and I are going out for drinks and dancing to Celebrate. My friend asked me excitedly yesterday what I planned to wear. It dawned on me that I really hadn't thought about it. What am I going to wear? I have a few things that fit that don't make me feel gross. I wear the same things to work and out to dance. Same things to go grocery shopping. Clothes aren't fun. They used to be, and I've never been a small girl, so I don't really know when that changed.

I don't know when I stopped thinking of clothes as fun, but I really am looking forward to a day when they do. I'll be getting sleeved in the next few months, and I think that's something I'm going to try and look forward to. Loving having options in my closet again.

I've never been a fan of shopping for clothes, even now 4 months post surgery. But when my underpants were too big and I needed to buy new ones - that made me pretty happy.

@SassyScienceNerd

For me, shoppping became fun when I discovered I no longer belonged in the plus size section. Actually, it was mystifying at first because I had been plus size for so long, I had to learn how missy and junior sizes worked. Once I got the hang of it though, I became quite the shopaholic for a couple of years. I would recommend starting with an aspirational outfit. Splurge on something you wish you could wear (it's your birthday after all), buy it two sizes smaller than you are now and hang it someplace where you can see it. Then keep trying it on as you lose weight, it will not only help you stay ontrack and give you something to look forward too but it will also be a great night out when you wear it.

Erp, I already have a dress I'd like to wear. I bought it at a thrift store in Brooklyn 3 years ago when I was about a 14 and hoping to fit into a size 12. Obviously I never made it in that direction. After I decided to have surgery, I set it aside to use as my goal. One day I will be posting a picture of myself in it. :)

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
