I had my surgery with hiatial hernia repar as well 4 days ago. Since day 3 i have been passing gas a lot. Each day i have increased my liquids. Im reaching about 48oz today so far. I feel weak at times wish i could eat just a lil spoonful of carbs on this liquid diet. Gas pain is gone but stomach feels like i have done 1000 crunches.

How was your recovery ?? My belly still hurts & im still very gassy. Unable to get anywhere close to 60oz of liquid

I'm 5 days out and what helps with gas is walking. I use a pillow on my belly and gently apply pressure when I get up and move around. This reduces pain and works the gas up or down either way is fine as long as it comes out. I have heard of some using a chewable for gas but talk to doc first and try walking around the house more.

I'm also five days had to get hernia repair it was in esophagus my doctor made to tight and swollen up , wasn't able to pass the drink test . The swollen is going down now started drink again going down.
