Were you hungry the day of surgery?

I just had surgery this morning and I am hungry. Did this happen to any of you? I am sipping some broth so maybe it will help. I was just wondering...my doc said I could have broth, gatorade and water only today.

I wasn't hungry at all -- I only had about 1/2 cup of water total the day of surgery...

I had surgery on Monday. I am 3 days post op and I still don't have any appetite. On days 1 and 2, I could barely drink 1-2 oz of Fluid at a time. Today is the first day that I am able to drink more, but I am still not hungry. Congrats on your surgery!!

I was STARVING!!!!! LOL! They gave me 8ozs of Carnation Instant Breakfast and I completely forgot about only drinking a small amount and drunk atleast half the cup. Of course I remembered REALLY quick because I had to go directly to the bathroom LOL!!!

Did it give you diarrhea?

After surgery, the last thing I wanted was food. I was very thirsty though and the nurse was eal good about keeping my water pitcher full. I think I had about 2 of the little jello squares but that was it .....Dave
