Has anyone experienced calf pain since having mini gastric bypass or RNY. I woke up yesterday with pain in my left calf area and it will not go away. I am 3 and a half months post opp. Thanks for your input.

you may have pulled a muscle. you did not mention if you have started exercising. sometimes with the lack of activity our muscles are weak and when we start exercising they are easily damaged temp. also be sure you are getting your Protein ( for your muscles) and taking all your Vitamins. good luck to you

Not to scare you, but this is also what DVTs (blood clots) feel like. If you haven't done anything to pull it and you've done any traveling like long plane trips or car trips where you sat a long time without stretching, you may want to contact your doctor and ask if they want to see you.

I quit farming a long time ago. The young cows drove me nuts...

OK Seriously---Dehydration is the main cause for me. Also the lack of potassium, and sitting too much caused cramping.

I'm a nurse and nuclear medicine technologist. DVT is going to be one of the first things they rule out. Any Abdominal surgery can pose that risk up to 6 months. Have it checked. Other symptoms can include warmth and redness in that area. If a clot in the leg breaks and goes to the lungs, it can be very, very serious. Don't play around. See a Dr. to be on the safe side.

While you are waiting to be seen... if you start having lung symptoms.. cough, shortness of breath, etc, get to the ER, pronto.

I went to my family Dr and she said she does not think it is a DVT but is sending me for a ultrasound on Tuesday morning. The pain is getting worse and now i I'm walking with a limb. She also took blood work to see why I am bruising so easily. This is scary.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
