I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Hi Mandy and welcome to this mad mad thread, we have great fun on here as well as for support and information, feel free to ask anything at all.

I initially contacted Tullia Law as well as some other intermediary agencies, found out who the surgeon was and came on here to research him. Through this thread I found out I could book direct through the surgeon and his management team and they will also arrange all taxi's and the price includes the hotel, but not meals, I wanted the taxi's sorted caus I did'nt want to sort them out at Belgium myself, plus the cost was cheaper, probably because there is no agency fee added to the price.

The care and cleanliness is second to none, I dont know of anyone who has regretted going to Dr Chris for the OP. Some have used Tullia, and no doubt you can get further info from them and whether it was the best way to book or not. I was extremely impressed with the direct service as you are consultated by the management team in person much more and hand led through every eventuality. Good luck in which ever way you book, ultimatly thr same surgeon will do your op and he is very good at his job.

Hi Mandy, the e.mail address for the intial enquiry is frederick.serneels@ecfs.be I would put a heading of NEW ENQUIRY to attract his attention caus he's sometimes a bit slow answering his e.mails, but dont book with anyone else until you have the full details. Good luck.

I know its going to be a pain but I got most infomation from sitting down with a pen and paper and reading this whole thread from the very start and jotting things down as I went along there are lists of things to take, best things to wear, and a host of info here, its take a bit of time but will be well worth it, there's a lot of nonsence on here to caus we have a laugh, it'll give you an insight to the personatilies on here,hope you got a sence of humour caus most of all we have fun,

Hi mandy, dont worry about asking questions.. we have all been there and asked for as much info as possible so none of us will mind, its a big step but one you wont regret. I got banded jan 16th 09 and so far i have lost 2 stone.. i will be having my 2nd fill 2moro so fingers crossed it will start moving again. If you do book to go with dr chris and his team you will probably find someone on here who will be going at the same time as you, that way a bit of extra support as well as what everyone on here will give you x

welcome mandy..we booked through europesurgery, with bridget but you can also book with "ecfs" which is more direct, as it is run by doctor chris and his assistant frederick. who ever you book with,like someone else said youll get the same op by chris, and the same care. a few of us on here did contact Tullia Law but found her a bit pushy, i just emailed her a simple enquiry and you have to put your phone number on..i expected to get an email back, but i was bombarded with phone calls every day for about 2 weeks,so she put me off a bit. Bridget at europesurgery was more approachable. also ecfs is booking direct, they might be a bit slow to answer enquiries etc but lots on here have used their package and everything has gone well for them. they all have different ways, some you pay beforehand, some after, but dont worry, there are no cons either way. evryone is bit worried about going abroad and the hospitals etc, but we have all found the hospital.staff and of course doctor chris and frederick to be excellent..the hospital is like a private one over here, its pristine and modern,very proffessional..no worries there..and doctor chris is a respected bariatric surgeon who does bands all day, hes done more than 4000 without complication, and uses the most up to date bands also. let us know when and if you decide to go ahead with it!?
