Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi Guys

Another week gone and have finally lost a bit more weight - now upto 18lbs lost in 8 weeks. Going for 1st fill this week so hoping this will make a huge difference.

Got some food stuck today - OMG talk about agony - I tried everything to dislodge it but it wasn't for shifting - hope that never happens again - took 30 minutes of agonising pain before it finally passed

Congrats to all the new bandsters and I hope it is going well for you all - remember to eat little and often especially when you move to mushies/soft foods - I found scrambled egg and crisp bakes a god send.

Hope everyone is well

Hi Sussie

Well done on managing to stick with it so far - its hard going. You can now have pretty much anything - key is eat slowly and chew properly to avoid blocking band.

I started off with scrambled eggs on crispbakes, Beans, omelette etc and then gradually moved onto stews etc

You will soon learn yourself what you can and can't eat - I can't eat bread or chips (not a bad thing) as they cause me a lot of pain and bread gets stuck

Good luck

Kerry

Hi there,

I am considering having surgery with him and have been offered a £2000 loan with one company, and I have £2000 on a credit card. In the email from DR Chris's assistant it says to pay the 500 euro deposit straight into thier account and then pay 3650 euro cash on the first visit from your personal ECFS coach . I was wondering how you felt travelling with that much cash on you, and what method you used to get the Euros. I was considering buying the majority with a credit card but would this incur a lot of charges? I am unsure what to do xx

Hi guys

Homecare thanks for the well wishes.

Bobobaldy thanks for letting me know what happens when you get to target. Wow you've done fantastic.

I was given a fill last Thursday 0.5ml which brings me up to 6.0ml in a 7ml band. Boy is it tight!!! Having the dreaded reflux at night and have never had that before. Was eating a yogurt earlier and threw it back up. Even icecream came back up. Managing to eat a few of those Carrs cheese Crackers and of course the odd Malteser is managing to stay down

Hoping this won't last for too long otherwise I'll be back to see him for an aspiration. For the moment, Gaviscon and Rennies are my best friends!!

I am booked for June 25th! I am so ready, but still super nervous! Does anyone know the website to book a plane ticket from London to Brussels? I went with the package they offered, so I won't have to worry about taxis or hotels. Is anyone else getting banded around then?

God I love this band again. I have brilliant restriction with 5ml (in a 10ml band). For dinner last night I had 1 sausage, 4 chips and 2 table spoons of baked Beans and it took me nearly an hour to eat because it kept getting stuck. Trouble is by the time id finished the food is cold.

Ive lost nearly a stone in 2 weeks since the revision surgery and bought my first pair of size 14 trousers.

Sussie you are doing really well, scrambled egg soon, yum!

Hi Topping, i had 0.5 put in my band back in March which brought me up to 6mils OMG it was so tight i eat a small bit of a spring roll got stuck and came back up getting sick made the band even tighter couldn't even keep Water down and the pain in my chest was unbearable i had to get a de fill of 1 mil it was so scary the nurse told me she usually tells people when they feel tight to wait a little while to see if it eases off, but with me she knew i was in trouble after getting sick everthing swelled up so she had no choice, the reason i am telling you this is just be very careful not to eat anything you think might get stuck and chew well, i was so annoyed with myself eating that dame spring roll i think if i had took it easy at the 6mils it would have leveled of by itself make ,sure you drink lots of water,if drinking becomes a problem you will have to get it checked out :)

Hi EnglishRose ,so glad things are starting to work out for you and band is finally starting to work good luck:smile2:

Hi Shoes,

Thanks for that. My god I know too well what its like!! About a month ago I got a chip stuck and the pulsating pain was so so bad. Happened after I'd had a few drinks (I didn't chew). I was nearly ringing the A&E Dept.

I'm sipping the water slowly and today I've managed to drink a YOP and its stayed down. Garry advised me not to eat anything 2 hours before bed so I didn't and had no reflux or gurgling last night. So really slow slow and really wet food.< /p>

Mash potatoes for dinner (which us Irish love), cheese and a couple of crackers for lunch. At this rate I'll be at goal in no time!!! :)

I just checked my Fill card that you get on your first fill.

My first fill with Fred was 3.0ml

Hope that helps!

Hi Kerry,

Glad to see you are losing loads.

We met in Belgium as I was the lady who went over again to have my band untwisted and came over to chat to you in the hotel the night before surgery.

Just to let you know everything is now OK and have since had a few fills and have now lost more weight.

I hope all my frank advise was helpful.

Katy

Hi toppings, I know exactly what your going through as Ive just completed a month of my band being too tight. Gaviscon didnt event take the edge off my heartburn and reflux. I felt some nights as if I would choke, the last few nights I had to sleep upright on my reclining chair. I only got a 0.2ml top up but my god it made a difference. I lost 12lbs but it was hell and I seriously wouldnt recommend it. I had 0.5mls taken out yesterday but my insides are still swollen and Ican only eat small amounts of food but at least its staying down.

In case anyone is interested I got a letter from WLS and they are now doing a package where you can have 6 band adjustments over a period of 12 months for £350. I think this is a great package as once your at or near restriction you dont need to go as often but if you are going on holiday you can have some out and then topped up on your return. I will be happy to pass on any info if anyone requires it. Jx

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
