Not quite haven't managed to stick to it again. I have 10 days from tomorrow to do it right but kicking myself. I just feel like 3 slimfast shakes is ridiculous when I read what other people can have. My diet isn't for just me personally it's just what my surgeon suggests. My BMI is 31.9 but that's me just making excuses for myself, story of my life x

It is hard. I have tried the slimfast in the past but that was with a low carb meal in evening and that was hard. I think this helps me when I want to cave...when I was at my pre op assessment,I was talking to a lady who had a bypass a year before and she was saying that when she had her surgery another lady in her ward woke up from surgery and they didnt do the procedure coz her liver hadnt shrunk enough and she confessed that she hadnt stuck to it. That scared me shitless lol.

I'm on Day 7 of my 14 days of the liquid diet. I want to take a huge bite of bread or something with some flavor but I haven't. I've stuck to my 3 Protein shakes a day, sf Jello and broth. I got tired of chicken broth so started beef broth. Drinking lots of Water and Decaf iced tea. I'm halfway there and my surgery is schedule for January 31.

Hi MLT

I know what you mean about bread. I had to go to bed lol as suddenly had the urge for a slice of toast. Was even imagining just having a nibble of the corner of a slice. But still awake thinking about bloody toast!! Dont want to break. Wont break. Keep motivated by thinking of the future. Good luck with your surgery on 31st x

I have been really snappy and only been on this for 3 days. I will try not to cheat on this again it's just so difficult being surrounded by people eating x

We refer to that in our household as hangry (hungry angry). Hope you survived another day :-)

It does feel good when you have been good not that I am used to that lol. Fresh start tomorrow need to focus on the reason why not weight loss but safe surgery x

I will say this, the pre-op diet is not fun but it's a necessary evil to embrace. Just imagine going from either filet mignon and lobster can go off and sugar-free Jell-O. So I'll see you stick to it now these are the transition will be after surgery it's all well worth it.

Today was a good day. How was your day? Keep reading that the lower your bmi the easier the pre op diet should be but my surgeon gas the same diet plans regardless of weight. Only problem I have is tomorrow I am going to a lovely hotel for the day/night with my BF that was booked for my Christmas x

Glad you had a good day. Am starting to crave something to bite...toast or biscuit but have'nt cracked yet. The end is in sight so don't want to risk it. Really can't believe this time next week will be at the hospital. Just need to get through the weekend which is when I would usually have treats. Fingers crossed. Good luck with your hotel break. Have a lovely time though but not too lovely (foodwise lol) xx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
