I want to scream. Absolutely devastated.

I weigh myself every Saturday.

12/31/16 - 241.6

1/7/17 - 238.6

1/14/17 - 238.6

I've lost two pounds in two weeks. I have walked nearly every day. I have tracked my goddamn calories, macros, and Water.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RULE OF CALORIES IN CALORIES OUT? THIS IS F*CK*NG B*LLSH*T!!!!!!!!

Now I don't even have an effing stomach and I'm not losing weight.

EVEN AFTER HAVING SURGERY TO MUTILATE MY BODY I WILL ALWAYS BE A FATSO.

Who has a f*ck*ng two week stall in the 3 weeks after surgery?!?????? ME.

Tell us exactly what you are consuming???? How much did you lose pre op? At two to three weeks, many of us stalled for a week or two. Its weird, but hang in there. In 3 months time, you'll be dancing with joy.

Me, too, love. Me, too. It's incredibly frustrating. Except, I weigh everyday and I am gaining and losing the same freaking 2 pounds over and over for the last 2 weeks. I am in the same feelings you're in, and doing EVERYTHING RIGHT!

It's OK I haven't had the surgery yet but I was told that sometimes your body has to adjust. So do what you know is right and your body will comply. I know you will do great keep pushing

Please don't be so discouraged... it will get better!

I have been having stalls off and on since my 2nd week post-op and I am now almost 9 weeks out.

I either don't lose weight from week to week, or I lost 1 or 2 pounds.

It is definitely frustrating, but I think it will pass.

I had two stalls, right around my periods both, week before and week during. Then I jumped down by 4 pounds out of nowhere. Maybe it has something to do with it. This close to surgery it can be anything from the gas you have been pumped with, lack of bowl movement to Water retention do to sodium intake. The water from the IVs that is.

I'll go two to three weeks without losing, even gaining a pound or two. Then it comes off. I'm down more than 94 pounds. Don't freak out. When you do that, you're more likely to turn back to food for comfort. Eat the plan and calm down. If you are truly following the plan, it will come off.

I lost zero pounds over 2 weeks. It is what it is. Didn't hamper my overall results so far. You are only frustrating yourself for something you can't control.

You and like everyone else who ever had surgery.

Chill out, stop weighing yourself.

Did your Dr even talk to you about surgery? My Dr told me the whole point of the first month is to heal, not lose weight and if I didn't lose any weight the first month it didn't matter. Your body is using all of its energy to try and heal from losing most of an organ, it doesn't care about your weight loss. My Dr sat and thoroughly explained this to me.

18 months later I am down 177 pounds.

Chill, goodness.

If there were any vets left on this board they would tell you about the Three Week Stall.

But there aren't.

So.

Thank you ladies for telling us exactly how you feel. These are my sentiments as well. I was sleeved on 12/6, which was over a month ago... I've lost 12 lbs since the surgery and pre-op I lost 7 lbs. So, in the past 7 weeks, I've lost 19 lbs in total. However, I've been at the same weight now, for the past 3 weeks!!! I try to remain optimistic, but it's hard. Especially when I read all the posts of 50, 60 and more lbs lost by people that were sleeved after me. Ughhhh!!!

I got a PM from OP complaining that I made her feel like <whatever curse word she used>. All because I told her the 3 week stall was normal and her Dr should have explained her surgery to her better.

THIS IS WHY VETS DO NOT BOTHER POSTING HERE ANYMORE.

I have heard that it is 3 months out when you will have the biggest loss.

Only advise I have is to vary calories from day to day. It can trick your body and make it use reserve fuel.

Never give up, never surrender

This is frustrating and I'm so sorry. Many of us have been there. For a while, consider focusing not on weight but on NSVs, which are Non-Scale Victories. Maybe certain clothing fits you better, maybe you can walk further than you used to, maybe you're making better decisions about what to eat. It gets better. Promise.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
