Blocking

Recommended Posts

I haven't been on here long but I can count the three people I have seen, since I joined not too long ago, who troll these forums with no niceties whatsoever. They quickly judge and shoot down someone with no thoughts to feelings. It's like they were mean fat people that got skinny and didn't bother to leave the mean part of themselves behind. Anyway, how can I block them??? Is there any way?

I'd prefer to read encouraging remarks. Sure you don't have to agree, but you can do constructive criticism without the attacks!

I'm not sure but I agree. Assholes come in all shapes and sizes!

All I found was to report someone. But I don't know if reporting really works. Would like to find out. And it wasn't even geared towards me! I was reading someone else's story and the attacks flew. It was so sad!

Thank you. I don't see it on the mobile app though. I'll log on the pc then.

In the app, click on their user name then from their profile in the upper right corner are three dots. Click there to ignore/block or undo it.

I think they mean well. Some people are just more blunt than others.

@ First thing i would do is report them to Alex Brecher. He takes this stuff very serious. He wants this site to be positive not negative..... look to the right you should see post that he has made, click on his profile and send him a message with the names of the offenders and a brief description of what and how this few are making you feel. He will reply.

I want to apologize that you had to experience such negativity. This site wasn't always like this. It's use to be fun, informative and encouraging.... Now if you disagree or write your feelings or ask a question you get chastised. It use to be the worse it got was a few that would correct your spelling and grammar... now it's much worse. What ever happened to agreeing to disagree....?

It shouldn't be that way. This should be a safe place to ask questions (any question)... state your opinion (any opinion). Come here and have fun and be up lifted and praised for what you have accomplished not matter what it is.

Please don't leave the site as we do have some really great and uplifting people still here...

Chris

@

I was never one to ignore people until recently. I don't mind when people disagree with me, but I do mind when people start name calling (not me, but other people), cursing, attacking the person not the issue, etc. Now I have about 10 people blocked because, honestly, they are not worth the negativity they bring in to my thoughts.

Scroll up to your name and a drop down menu will appear. Go to manage ignore prefs and type in the username of the person you want to ignore.

It's a great thing.

Take what you need and leave the rest. This really is a great forum despite a few. :)

Or you're not overly sensitive and looking to be offended when you ask for justification to eat tacos 45 minutes post op. :D

Everyone knows that it isn't safe to eat taco's 45 minutes post op; you need to wait 1 hour.

There is an ignore button, as has already been mentioned. It is not like blocking people on Facebook, where they virtually cease to exist. You will still see that someone you have ignored has posted, and then that itch of curiosity starts in. What did they write? Did they mention my name? I have to know! So you end up reading it anyway.

Of course, by now you may have found the ignore button, and aren't seeing any of this. ;-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
