Hello friends! I am down 66lbs now! Yay! But my "yay" turned into "boo" today when I started noticing how loose my skin is getting. I know this has been posted about before, but I feel like reposting will get new and updated opinions!

What lotions have you all found that helped keep skin firm? I've heard about the Palmer's one... Has anyone tried this? Let me know!

I'm soooo worried about this, too.

I'm going to start dry brushing. Results online seem promising, but who knows?

I also bought some compression garments for my arms and tummy. I got a percussion massager to use in conjunction with lotion (not sure which brand of lotion yet). It may be futile, but I gotta try.

Been looking at body lift pictures lately and not very many of them look great, TBH. Major bummer.

No lotions, potions, wraps, or any of that stuff will firm skin that has been stretched out due to being obese and losing large amounts of weight. Some will give the appearance of it temporarily, but nothing permanent. Surgery is really the only option for those really bad areas.

Strength and resistance training can definitely help in areas where you can fill out the skin with some muscle, giving it a firmer appearance, but some just won't snap back. I am a good example. I've done okay with my arms using strength training, but my pannus area will definitely need surgery to remove. I'm on the fence about it right now. Good shape wear can do wonders ;)

I've heard some people have good luck with lotions! I know it won't get rid of all of it, but anything that will help would be great.

Definitely going to start strength training when I'm cleared for it.

No lotion or cream is going to help but you should moisturize your skin anyway. It's a goodidea wear a sleep bra to assist gravity and keep loose breast skin from thinning a stretching.

Compression garments, toning leggings and the like will make you look better in cloths and like sleep bras lessen the effects of gravity. I like the genie brand, low cost and much sturdier than spanks, though you need to be about a size 18 or smaller for the leggings.

Depending on age and genetics some of the skin will shrink that's why (reputable) plastic springs tell you to wait a year or two after weight loss to have cosmetic surgery .

Yeah. I'm only 25, but I have a lot to lose. I know I can't do anything about it now, surgically. Just getting curious.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
