I am 10 days post op and was feeling great. I am getting all my Fluid and all my Protein in. I have had some trouble sitting up in like a dining room chair but not too bad. Yesterday I was on my feet all evening with no problem and no pain. I drove home last night which was uncomfortable but I made it. Today I can hardly move, I haven't been able to walk much. Every time I get up I have burning pain way worse than before. Does the pain come in waves?

Different parts of your body heal at different rates. Are you sure you haven't pulled something? That left side takes awhile to heal because that is where they did the most tugging and pulling . If you are not able to get around because of the pain you should either call or go see your surgeon to make sure something else isn't wrong. Sometimes it could be your gallbladder .... if you haven't had it out already. Have you been nauseous too? If it were me I'd get it checked out. Increasing pain doesn't sound normal.

Get it checked out

I am 8 months out and had am now 6 days post op from having an emergency internal hernia repair operation (it's one of the risks from surgery)

I know im already 8 months out but left side pain is a symptom of a hernia that could be on the left side

Another symptom i had was I couldn't eat or drink anything as if I did once it touched my pouch it would hurt like crazy

I had a lot of pain from day 14 to day 24 in my left side under where my incision was. The doctor said its because they stitch deep and tight there to be sure you dont get a hernia it was worse than any pain I had after surgery so it took me by surprise. My doctors rule of thumb if you arent sure call.. worth a call to the doctor to be safe

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
