10 day pre-op diet and diet pills?

i am to start my pre-op diet on the 9-24. i have to do clear liquids the first 5 and then liquids the second 5. so my question is, can you take diet pills during this time? you know, something to help squash the hunger? do you get terribly hungry? i dont even know...i am so excited to get started, but also kinda nervous, like, what if i cant do it? but i can, i know i can, i want this so bad and have waited SO long to be thin! like my whole life! thanks for the help.

I was never a fan of the diet pills. The liquids can fill you up if you drink a lot of water between meals. Now is a good time to start practicing the " not drinking with food stuff". That was the hardest habit for me to break. The next 10 days will go by pretty quickly. Congrats and keep us posted.....Dave

I know the liquid diet is hard.

BUT, Don't take diet pills!!!

I was tempted to do the same, but you really shouldn't and here is why:

Diet pills alter the way that your heart beats, raises your blood pressure & can stay in your system and alter the way you react to anesthesia.

Being under for surgery next week, your heart is going to be struggling enough, why make it harder?

Make sure you have a safe surgery and stay away from the diet pills!

Don't do it!!

Oooops.........stopping now. Thanks for the advice. I have 5 days until my surgery so hopefully that is enough time to get them out of my system.

that's interesting...i asked the nurse at my doctor's office and she said she didn't think the pills the weight loss clinic gave me wouldn't be a problem. but she did tell me to ask the anesthesiologist at my pre-op visit tomorrow just to be sure. glad i took a look at this!
