Hello....I have been thinking about having a gastric sleeve for years but have had previous blood clots. Does anyone know if this would be a automatic no?

Not necessarily. I had a DVT about 8 years ago, I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. They put you on blood thinners before during and after surgery. I received heparin shots for 2 days after surgery.

VSG date: 11/22/16

HW: 225. SW:222. CW: 206

Wow 2 days? Im taking them for ten days after surgery tonight is my last night yaass.

I've had a few DVTs, a small PE and a clot in my portal vein. My surgeon said that I could still get the sleeve. She said that she wishes they knew why I clot, but they have done all the tests and can't find anything. But she said that I just need to think about my choice long and hard, just in case I might get another clot. She said they will follow the plan set by my hematologist for blood thinners and dosage.
