I am 3 1/2 weeks post-op. I had the sleeve done and I believe it's too tight. I can't eat or drink anything. My meal is mainly 1tsp of Beans if I can. I can't keep liquid down. The doctor said she to take my time but it's getting to be a problem. Can someone help!!!!

I had similar struggle with incredible nausea with even Protein shake but what helped me turn things around was taking tiny bird sips and waiting between each. It would apply to food too if you are eating. Tiny bits, chew really well, swallow, and wait a couple minutes before the next bite. My doctor says to commit 30 min to each meal even when you only need to get 3 ozs in. Take the time and go slow. I have found though i cannot drink a swig like i did post opp or i get pain and sickness. I HAVE to sip. As if it was piping hot Soup. Either way, sorry you are going through this.

The sleeve is not really tight like with lapband. You likely have swelling and internal healing going on. Focus on Protein shakes and Water while you heal and until your next doctor appt. Good luck.

Had lapband surgery 10/12/16

It is possible that your sleeve is too tight because that's what happened to me. I had the GI test the morning after surgery and immediately the doctor said it was tight. The liquid went in and we all watched as it never came out. Eventually the liquid did come out but it took an abnormal amount of time. I had a scope procedure done so that they could open up everything but that was two weeks after surgery. I can relate to the restriction but I can tell you that if your sleeve has a small complication like mine, it will pass. As the swelling goes down it will naturally get better. Hang in there and hopefully it passes soon for you!

They can put a device down your throat and stretch ur sleeve a little if the problem gets to much but try and work it first ?

I struggled to get even 4 ounces in for the first 6 weeks. however, I was able to sip slowly all day long. How much can you take in at one time right now, in oz's? As others said, our stomachs are swollen for weeks after. My doc told me at my 6 week post op that it was still swollen then. I can now eat over 4 oz but it took a long time.

oh, I wanted to add, if you feel something is wrong you need to be your own advocate. If you are still having the problem and you start to feel unwell, call your surgeon back. Tell them what your concerns are, I was a total f'ing nuisance to my surgeon's office the first 6 weeks post op. But they didn't fire me as a patient and I'm doing fantastically now. But I'm not kidding when I say I called them once a day for the first 3 weeks.

Thank you all... I just feel at 3 1/2 months I should be able to eat without feeling nauseated. As of today I haven't ate in 4 days. The surgeon must keeps saying it will get better..

At 3 months, that is a problem. See your doctor.

Agreed. 3 weeks? Yeah, normal. 3 months? Houston, I think we have a problem.

Try to find another doctor for a second opinion.

When was the last time you contacted your doctor about this? It seems to me if you can't eat for 4 days you are in jeopardy of landing in the hospital from dehydration. Call your surgeon's office and tell them you can't eat or drink for over 96 hours and ask if you should just go to the ER. It really is that serious if you can't take in liquids at this point. Are you even able to eat any solid foods at all?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
