8mo post op, 85lbs down!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!!

Just wanted to share some success! I've actually been really down lately about how I look. I keep saying I look the same and I still have so much more to go.

I wish someone had prepared me for the head games involved with this process. It takes a while for your head to catch up to how far you have come. My boyfriend suggested I do some shopping and it was the first time I really said to myself "wow, if I stopped here I would not be unsatisfied" and MEANT it.

Target shirt in a MEDIUM (whaaaaaaat! I was in a TIGHT 3xl), Uniqlo jeans in a 29 (they're really stretchy Ive been wearing a 10 lately and my waist is 33 1/2 inches)!

Anyway point of this is...take some time to let yourself enjoy your success. It's so easy to become hyper critical of yourself.

The mental game in this journey is definitely the hardest part. Congratulations on your success so far. Your hard work is paying off!!

You have done an awesome job. Yes, the mental changes take some time. Love that your boyfriend suggested you go shopping!

Omg!! You look amazing!!! I hit my first stall after having lost 39 pounds and moped around for literally 3 days. I finally dusted myself off, and the weight loss is continuing albeit slowly. As long as my weight is going down... [or staying the same] and not going up... I'm a happy camper! You rocking it though girlie!!!

You look incredible!!! I understand completely from past weight loss efforts. I never saw that I had lost the weight. You in a size ten now - that's amazing. What size were you in he first photo?

Congrats!

@@kmsull617 I wore some VERY STRETCHY size 20 jeans, but in all honesty I was likely closer to a 26/28. My waist was around 52 inches at the time the picture was taken ???? I never allowed myself to be photographed (which I deeply regret now)!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
