I haven't had any hunger issues, but I, like most people, hit a stall at the beginning of week 3 post-op. It lasted about 2 weeks, and then the scale began to move again. Your body just needs a chance to catch up to the rapid weight loss.

Hunger feelings are normal in the early weeks because a swollen stomach, your stomach healing and the excess acid your stomach is making. Your stomach is used to making enough acid for a much bigger stomach. All those things will mimic hunger. Just make sure you take your antacids daily as your surgeon recommends. My hunger dropped off on day 16 or 17, some take much longer before it drops off, and others quicker. Just make sure you get your Protein and Water levels in, and things will improve. Good luck!

A few days isn't a major problem. I admit I can be a scale addict at times and check my weight twice, even three times a day. But I try my best to not count pounds until it's been a week. Stalls are going to happen, we just need to switch things up, drink more Water, and exercise. Everyone is different.

I am 4 weeks out and am stalled right now, actually this morning I am up a pound. It's discouraging although I know it is "normal."

Today is week 4 post op and according to my home scale i havent moved. First week i lost 22 lbs. Then between then and my 3 week appt I'd only lost 5. I tend not to believe my home scale because it is 20 lbs off so i only use it for an estimate but the numbers havent changed since last week. Im hoping i go in to my next appt and find out im down at least some. I have panic disorder so this isn't working for me. Makes me feel my body has betrayed me and i just went through this surgery for it to not work. Im trying to pull myself from that mindset

I'm totally in the same mindset. Feel like surgery was a failure. I am 3 weeks post op today. Scale hasn't budged in a whole week. I think inches have but haven't measured.

Feel like I'm eating to much through the day or doing something wrong I am on my soft foods stage in my diet so I'm eating pretty well anything that's not to hard or hard to digest. Blah..

I also feel like when I say I've only lost 33 lbs since my pre op diet to now it seems so minuscule. Even though it's a good amount and I didn't gain my weight overnight. I feel like I'm expecting it to be gone over night. oh how I feel crazy.

Yup. that's exactly how I feel too. It's like the progress we have made is amazing but then it stops suddenly and you feel like you won't ever pick back up again. I didn't think about inches.. It's weird I stopped losing but clothes still felt looser than they had. Maybe I can have them check inches next time I go too. I also feel like I am eating too much during the day too. I felt like I was stuffing myself until I got my food scale and have been able to track it. and what feels like a lot now really isn't. I was so shocked to see 3 oz made me feel like I was pushing it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
