Good morning!

I was sleeved exactly one month ago today. For my entire first month I used PatchMD's Multivitamin and Calcium/D3 Patches. I also take a sublingual B12.< /p>

I had my one month check in with my Dietitian on Friday. When she asked about Vitamins I told her I've been using the Patches and she pretty much went off on me about how there is no long term data. Well, yes, obviously because they are new to the market there would not be any long term data, and I took them knowing they are not FDA regulated yet because FDA approval takes a very long time. I'm a food scientist, so I understand both her concerns and how the patches work.

But after thinking about it I decided to try the chewables. Over the weekend I tried them 4 times (morning and night) and each time they either made me nauseous or I dry-heaved. I guess you could argue that if I had a reaction to them they are actually working... but I obviously don't want to feel sick twice a day every day for the next 2-4 months.

So, I'm wanting to go on the Patches again until I'm able to swallow Vitamin pills in a few months. The problem is, my Vitamin panels are not drawn until the 3 month mark, so I have no way of knowing if these are really working.

Has anyone been using vitamin patches for more than a couple months? How have your labs looked?

I would like to try them too. My concern is I have latex and adhesive allergies.

One year post op. I've used them since day one and all my labs are good, I'm not low in anything. I stick one on after my shower. Don't even know it's there. Well worth it for me!

I've used the Patches since about 2 weeks post-op, I'm now 5 mos post-op and my labs have been stellar. I use the multi Vitamin, the D3 with Calcium, the Iron and the b-12.

They stick very well, I've never had one peel off.

I have a latex allergy and am usually sensitive to adhesives and have no trouble at all with the Patches. I shower, towel off and apply them, then put on my body lotion and just avoid those small areas. Then I remove them before bed.

I put them on once a day for the day. They are one inch square. I use four: 1 Multivitamin, 1 B12, 1 D&Calcium, 1 Iron. I tried a few locations before settling on an area I don't seem to lose them (under my bra band)

Use multi and B12. Labs were good. They are great as I gag on Vitamin pills.

I use the Multi Vitamin patch from the Bariatric Pal Store. I have had great labs. I put one on in the morning and it is there until the next day. I have even taken a shower with one on and it stayed put. I have them on a monthly subscription along with my Protein hot chocolate. Am thinking of getting other Patches for some of the other Vitamins I need to take.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
