Anyone else in the 2-3 week stall? I'm starting to feel really depressed. Just wondering if anyone else sleeved in December is past the stall and how and when it broke.

I know! I am doing everything right too! Hitting my Protein and Water goals, staying at 600-800 calories a day, working out and nothing! I know my body is adjusting, but I just keep wondering when it will break! I've been stalled since the 26th too!

I've hit a stall. I'm on my 3rd week and the scale just won't move for me either. I meet with my doctor and he said I'm on the right track, so maybe I'm expecting things to happen faster than it should.

Become a better you for YOU :-)

I made a group called "December 2016 Sleevers!" I would love for everyone who has a surgery date in December to join! lets be a great support system for each other and go on this journey to a better us with great friends. Share our success and failures along the way, cheer each other on, wether you already have support from your family and friends or from nobody at all like I've unfortunately seen from some, lets make sure we definitely have each other to lean on! btw they say you normally gain weight around the holidays, are we crazy?! haha

Sleeved 12/26.. new to this app. How do I join?

@@Banks601y started back with weights at week 3,but just eased back into it and on the lighter side and did multiple sets. Was just told not to over exert it until my next visit in two weeks. You know your body better than they do so just don't overdo it. I am ready to get back at it though!

@rbaertsch. My bmi is 35 point something so I totally under the slow loss and how hard it is seeming everyone just drop weight and have these amazing numbers while I'm over here like hmmm week 2- week 3 I lost one pound and week 3-4 I lost four pounds - those were two weeks where no matter how well I followed the diet nothing every made my home scale move- o see my dr weekly and he weighs me and the weight loss for the weeks posted are from his scale that also breaks down body fat ect-

We need to remember sleeve weight loss is also slower than gastric bypass too- I'm the only sleeve of the people who had surgery the same week I did and go to the same appointments and nutrition classes ect as me so it's super frustrating - but they are also 80-100 pounds bigger than me so that could be a reason

@banks601y. That's amazing to heard your insulin use age has been cut on half- one of my very good friends is type one diabetic she has stayed pretty skinny tho so I'm not sure how much she uses but she in general struggles a lot to maintain good sugar levels - congrats to you for taking the plunge to do something for yourself and your health :)

For those asking about working out I asked yesterday at my four week post op about starting couch to 5k because I signed up for a huge 5k in the area that's in mid march- it's an 8 week program the app I have and inneed to start this week coming up to complete it in time to be ready for the 5k my dr told me just to make sure I'm more towards the higher end of my calorie goals the days I train or do extensive exercise

The calorie goal set forth by my dr for me is 800-1000 so on strenuous workout days I need to be between 950-1000

Also oh my goodness I'm posting a lot but does yalls doc do a print out to break down your weight loss- that's helpful for me especially when I had the week I only lost a pound :/ of the 18 pounds I lost on the scale my fat mass dropped 18.5 pounds I gained some Water fat free mass and Protein mass- so these stalls might be our bodies catching up and while the big number isn't moving your fat mass is still going down- the week I lost one pound on the scale my fat mass went down by 5 pounds sondespote the small number seeing the other parts helped me to keep going

@@ambernoel I guess we just need to accept the fact that our bodies are all different, and as long as we are going in the right direction, speed does not matter. We'll get there too! On a positive note...I finally lost my first pound this week! Let's remember, this is a journey, not a race.

Hello I have my 2 weeks appointment Thursday I can't wait to see what instore for my next step (food) anything other than all the liquids I'm getting burned out. Anybody had an problems with Constipation I've only had one BM in almost 2 weeks if so what did you do

Omj!! YEESSSS! I was given Miralax, I've had to take it twice!! But it works wonders, the first time I had to take a dose that evening then again the next morning, just the other day I was having problems and took a dose and by morning it was all good I like Miralax because you stir it into 4ozs of Water and drink it, it has no flavor so it goes down easy. You a Nola girl?? Me too, now live in Texas!!

I couldn't do refried Beans before surgery bcuz of acid reflux anyway I don't like it, any suggestions?

I totally understand, Proteins do that to me too, like they won't go down... I stuck to Greek yogurt and cream of wheat, now when I blend my meats I add broth or Water, blend them well, then strain it... Not the tastiest, but I can tolerate them.... I'm going on 5 weeks out and find I'm tolerating things better now. Last night I went out to a restaurant with my family, ordered bean Soup, smashed some of the Beans up with the juice and was able to tolerate it really well.... I also didn't use to know when I was full, but I'm learning what that feels like now. When I first started with puréed meats, I also tried to eat 2oz.... and realized I could only eat an oz comfortably. Each day will get better. Try eating just an egg, blend it up with some broth ( after I blend it, I nuke it a few secs to warm it up) you may tolerate it better... let me know how it goes!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
