Compression Garment

What is the best (based on personal experience) compression garment for a Tummy Tuck and thigh lift?

I ordered a Salome 0520 liposuction Compression Garments Post Surgery Girdle Faja Colombiana Black M

from Amazon. It said in the reviews that it ran small, so I ordered a Med and it fit fine in the legs, but I could not even get it clasped around my stomach. I debated on keeping it because my stomach will of course be much smaller, but wondered with all the swelling in the beginning, if I would be able to get it done up. Do you typically have to order one size for right after surgery, then another once the swelling goes down?

Thank you all in advance!

I don't have an answer. But I swear, I was just about to post a topic about this. I need one badly. So I'm posting to follow your thread. :)

Well the point of compression is that it is tight. If it is tight now it should work.

there have been tons of post made about this very topic...@@Spiceyfrog I would check with your dr and see what his plans are.... if he has no plans to put a compression garment on in the back.... give him yours and have him do so right after surgery....

My PS sized and fitted me with a compression garment before surgery. Which he put on in the operating room after surgery. I wore it for about 6-8 weeks i think... i only took it off to shower.

Trust that i do believe it makes all the difference.... and it helps with discomfort. For me having it tight was good.

Mine kinda looked like this http://healingenhancements.com/tummytuckcompressiongirdle37015.aspx

My garments are being provided by the company I am going with however they did say they would feel really tight.

Are you having the TT and thigh lift on the same day?

Hope it all goes well for you!!

I had a panniculectomy almost 2 years ago & I still wear a Shapewear garment every day. I wore an abdominal binder day & night for the first three months or so. I continue to wear a Cupid garment I bought at Walmart & modified to go from right below my bra to cover my butt. I cut off the straps because they just don't fit right & I've tried several brands. I wear it because I still feel the pulling of the tissues that were stitched together where my 15 pounds of pannus was removed & it's just more comfortable with the garment.

Thank you - I do plan to check with him, but my pre-op appointment is not until December 3rd. I am an OCD planner!! I did end up returning the one I purchased and decided to wait to see if they would provide one. If not, I would still have three weeks of order one. Based on everything I have read, I will be wearing it night and day. When I had my brachioplasty last year, I only wore ace wraps for a week and I think my scarring results could have been better had I known.

Yes, I am having a Tummy Tuck and thigh lift on the same day and am beyond NERVOUS! They are also repairing a hernia, while in there. I am planning to take three weeks off work and just found out last week that my husband may have to leave for Saudia Arabia on Jan 1st and my procedures are scheduled for Dec 29th. To say I have been stressed this week would be an understatement!!

Did you just have the horizontal incision or did you have both horizontal and vertical? I was leaning toward just the horizontal, but would rather get the most for my money and really don't care about the scar being visable, no one will ever see if except my husband.

i really am proud and happy with my TT.

My surgeon recommended Marena. You can go on their website and pick the garment you need then plug in your measurements and order the size you need. My surgeon said to go with the smaller size since they will be removing so much skin.

This is what I used for my Tummy Tuck. I got a couple of them so I could wash one and wear one. They worked well for me and I probably wore it longer than I needed to because I felt more "secure" in it.

I had 2 of the Marena for the body breast and arms as I had all of my surgeries within 2 weeks. You need the spare for when your washing the other one

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
