3 weeks out, food volume?

Recommended Posts

At 3 weeks I was still on pureed food and was told don't worry about volume, just meet Protein and Water goals. I easily ate 1/3 c of something I really liked. When I got to solid foods, there is a definite "don't you dare take another bite" feeling vs liquids and pureed food.

I can't stress the importance of weighing or measuring your food. You don't want to over eat. Really don't. Especially if your out with friends having fun because the fun will stop.

If you eat in restaurants have the wait person bring you a box with your mean unpack away the "extra" (most of the meal!) Before you even start eating. Drink your Fluid when you wait for your food. You might have to remove it from the table so you don't forget not to drink.

I can't seem to edit on my tablet but wanted to add that you can do most of your measuring using those 5c.f. cups from the hospital

. 2 scoops of Protein to 1 scoop of carbs (low calorieveggies for me but a cup of yams or platforming in a while.

I'm on my last week of the puree stage (weeks 2-4 for me). I was told to focus on Protein Shakes and Soups the first week, then gradually progress to thicker food (mashed potato consistency). Volume of food per meal is 1/4 to 1/2 cups. If I have refried Beans, I can eat about 1/4 cup before starting to feel full (my first sign is burping). Last night for dinner, I had Chunky Soup pureed to a gravy consistency. I can easily eat 1/2 cup of this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
