Out of breath!

I'm noticing that when I go for my 30 minute walk I am out of breath, especially when I try and talk to my husband at the same time.

Also notice it when doing chores around the house.

Is this normal? As I wasn't out of breath walking before the surgery. 16 days post op.

Tia for all responses!

Maybe you should call your surgeon's office if you haven't been sick or had a cold/bronchitis and if you do not have asthma.

I am as well. I has been getting better. I chalk it up to the 400 calories I'm taking in right now on the liquid diet. I expect it will get better when I move to purees. I also have a cold that probably doesn't help. I finding it getting better day by day. Feel a huge improvement today (15 days post op)

It can be a symptom of blood clots in your lungs. This close to surgery, I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry. I called my doctors office almost every day with some new symptom, which all turned out to be nothing. I sounded like a crazy person, but I didn't care. :)

I'm going to call the nurse tomorrow and see if she thinks i need to come in? Is being out of breath a symptom of blood clots?

Yes it can be a symptom of clots and with surgery not that far out that is my first suspicion. If you get any chest pain or it worsens call 911.
