I am having gastric serve surgery on 10/21/16 and I'm very scared. I thought my BFF was accompanying me but she is unable to at the last minute so I will have to go alone. I'm terrified. Dr Fernando Garcia is my doctor. I'm just lost right now. I leave on 10/20/16 from louisiana and I'm so overwhelmed! Was so excited but so scared to go aloned

• @DebSmiles I was going with Dr. Garcia, I had researched and he's been doing for a very long time. I had messaged with two girls on here that went to him two weeks ago. Are you going by yourself or bringing a friend or spouse? I am excited but nervous too. The idea of flying from San Diego to DFW, then to Lafayette after surgery doesn't sound fun.

I'm also from Louisiana. Looking into Dr. Garcia for sometime in January! I have enjoyed hearing all the good outcomes

@angelryrn It's because of you and the other girl that I considered Dr. Garcia. You guys seem to do so well, and when I researched him he'd been doing it for quite some time. Thanks for sharing. Also, please post updates.

Hi! I'm so glad you decided to go with Dr Garcia! He really was wonderful and the whole thing was a good experience! No regrets!! I'm 13 days postop and I went back to work today. I have some weakness and fatigue but so far no other issues!

Makes me feel good to hear this. I am so glad you shared on here. How long did you decide to stay at hotel before flying back? Any other info you feel I should know is great. I know some people say they wore compression socks (I didn't know about them) on flight to help with circulation. I don't even know if I'd recognize fatigue, I work 7 days a week I am getting a bit more excited, I filled out forms to get Passport Card today, will drop off tomorrow. Not sure what else I need to get ready now.

I stayed the night before in a hotel then surgery night and next night in hospital then 2 more hotel nights. I wore compression stockings in the way home after surgery to prevent blood clots. If you contact Tijuana bariatrics they will guide you through The Who process!

@angelyrayrn Thanks! I am in contact with Alisha there. Thanks for letting me know how long you stayed. I was planning on doing exactly what you did. One day before in hotel, surgery-two days at hospital, and then two days in hotel after to make sure all goes well.

@@Cbrewington AWESOME!!! That is so cool that you have your BFF going with you. I will go it alone, for some reason meeting (on here) many that have gone thru alone and in Mexico, I am starting to get some relief. I had started process in Mexico last week, I told them Jan 10 but don't have the definite date yet....they said that date was available. Did you already book flights or waiting til closer?
