Thanks for typing what I was thinking....

I'll add in. How much did you lose by X?

I get it... Those are things people really want to know about the future and being overweight. Just repetitive questions.

It is a new world for the overweight population.... (Primarily females )to finally change a part of life that is very hard to conquer without huge changes and surgery.

Thank goodness there are a lot of posters who will answer many questions over and again.

This site has some great info ( along with some fallacy) for those looking for answers.

I don't blame you, I am pre-op and I am already tired of some of the questions. But I hope that despite all of the repetitive questions, that you decide to stick around. I hope that once I finally have my surgery that there will still be knowledgeable vets such as yourself to help guide me, and to smack some sense into me if I end up posting one of those same repetitive threads. I appreciate people who refuse to sugar coat things. I don't want to be coddled, I want truthful information and insight from those people who have been through it themselves already.

I am new, and I use search everytime before I ask myself. The searching function isn't always the best. I'm sure it all gets old (especially the can I eat pizza, cake, etc.) But I know that I really appreciate it and I'm sure others do too.

Maybe there should be a forum on here for the 'vets', and you can only join after x weeks/months as a member of this site? The topics will be those of interest to those who are more informed and you won't have to weed through the repetition.

I'm not sure if this would work, but just a thought. If you did create such a forum I do hope you'd still pop into the rest of the content as we can all benefit from your knowledge and experience :)

Apparently I need to stop reading the Post-Op forum as that is where the Stupid lives.

I'm 7 years post sleeve . You can always send me a PM.

I tend to stay away from the general sleeve discussion and now read rants and raves, the lounge, the powder room etc because of the same reason. I can't read the same question that I've been reading for 7 years.

How about "I had surgery this morning at 8, it's 4 pm now and I just had a crunchy taco and shot of whiskey and now I feel guilty...is that bad?"

~ Ok maybe that's a little exaggerated....but only a little! Some of the questions are outright scary. After reading some I often wonder how they haven't injured themselves or even caused a rupture, but I don't dare say anything because....you know...bullying and all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
