My surgery was 9/27/16 RNY - I continue to struggle with Water and Protein too! I bought a big clear mug that holds 32 ounces. I find it's helping me to see the cup and know I need to keep drinking. Before I had bottles of water all over and wasn't really interested or measuring because I felt so miserable. I'm finally tolerating my Protein shakes again! I had the most awful sour/bitter taste for the first 2 wks and everything tasted horrible. But the shakes still taste SO sweet. At least I'm getting the protein in! My other food intake is so very minimal. A few bites and I'm sooo full. I know it'll take time. Enjoying the weight loss. Down about 25 lbs so far. Best of luck to everyone!

  • 2 months later...

I had surgery on Aug. 19. The first month was a huge struggle -- all I wanted to do was sleep, I had to force myself to eat and drink and I had a few complications as well. (Anyone else experience the insane itching that happens when your body is depleted of oils?) Things are going much better now, although I'm still forcing myself to eat and I'm not getting enough Protein. Day by day ... take it day by day.
