Pre-Op appointment on the 14th - starting early

My surgery is scheduled for the 25th. I have my pre-op appointment with the NUT and surgeon on the fourteenth so i won't have the full two week pre-op diet but figured i should get started getting used to the liquid only and also try to figure out which Protein supplements I like. I am going to do liquids during the day and eat a small reasonable dinner of protein and veggies for the next two weeks. I am hoping this philosophy will help me when i have to do all day liquid diet. :)

My question is, and I know there will be a variety of answers, but how many protein supplements are you typically take during pre-op? I copied what someone else posted and am trying to follow it but wondered what others had suggested to them. This one calls for four per day along with broth, Water, milk and Jello. Is that reasonable?

@@simpsongrad All plans are different - do you actually have a two week pre-op diet required? Mine is 2 weeks of liquids only - 5 Protein shakes (Bariatric Fusion) and 3 Snacks of broth, sf Jello or sf popsicles. I start tomorrow - surgery on the 18th.

Hi @@KristenLe - My surgery is scheduled for 25th and my actual pre-op is scheduled for the 14th. So I don't know yet what my surgeon is going to require. I am working ahead on the diet plan since I figured the sooner I get used to it, the better. i am doing liquids during the day and a very reasonable dinner of a lean protein and veggies. I don't know what my surgeon is going to demand but I know it will be shorter than two weeks knowing there are only 11 days between surgery and my pre-op appointment. I just came back from vacation and gained 2.5 pounds that I want to make sure I lose too so it isn't going to hurt me. :-)
