2016 Fall TV Season

Recommended Posts

What new this shows are you watching this year?

I am loving BETTER THINGS and ATLANTA on FX. QUEEN SUGAR is pretty good.

Of course, POLDARK on PBS is back!

Any suggestions?

I second "This is Us".

I watched Grey's last night - i Have to say that I am impressed. They have done a good job keeping story lines interesting.

New season of Transparent is out on Amazon. I love that show.

Not new, but I am also a Shameless (US version) addict. New season starts Sunday.

Atlanta and Queen Sugar are on my catchup list.

I love Chelsea Handler's new talk show on Netflix, new episodes every Wed, Thurs and Friday. I really like "Better Things" as well, she was so good in "Louie."

We have DVR'd but not watched Designated Survivor. This is not necessarily a fall show, but we watched the Netflix series, Stranger Things recently, and it was SOOOO good! I can't wait for the 2nd season to come out in 2017.

American Horror, Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries! Not sure what I will add new. Recommendations please!! Must be dark, scary or sexy!

AHS, Blacklist, Quantico, Secrets and lies, 60 days in, Queen Sugar, Blindspot, married at first sight, designated survivor, SVU, Pitch, the walking dead, and narcos on Netflix. Just depends on the week, I usually DVR em and catch up on the weekends.

Idk if I can handle any more shows but if they are good, let me know.

Designated survivor is pretty good so far.

American horror story is interesting with a reality show/reenactment theme.

I've been watching, "Bull" and "Rosewood".

So far I'm enjoying them----Of course, "Rosewood" was on last season.

"Bull" is supposed to be based on Dr. Phil's life experiences. I find it fascinating.

Don't care. Surgery is going to give me an extra 0-50 years and I sure as hell am not going to waste them staring at the idiot box.

Besides, I'm sure a huge portion of the people here can blame a good part of their weight gain on a sedentary idiot-box-watching lifestyle in the first place.

You can still enjoy some tv shows or movies even while you are working on losing weight and after having surgery.

I have found that doing some in-place marching or weight training while watching my favorite tv shows helps and actually keeps me motivated. It is kind of like a reward for working out or doing some cardio, and working out is something I have always struggled to do. Yes, a very sedentary lifestyle can lead to some weight gain, but I don't think it means giving up the simple pleasures of watching tv. I do think everyone has their own ways of dealing with that, though.

I hope your WLS journey is going well :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
