Well... it's official... I had my first official PB tonight. :D I have had the terrible pain and sliming before... but this was the first time it came up instead of finally going down.

I still feel like the one bite of dinner I had is stuck... any suggestions if I keep harking up slime balls and the food stays stuck????? I want to take a sip of Water SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad... it's taking all of my willpower to ignore this urge! :ermm

The same thing happened to me today too. It was awful. I finally managed to get the food out, but I learned the hard way what happens when you take a drink. Don't do it. I hope you feel better soon.

How come you can't take a drink to help clear it? Sorry if it is a dumb question, but I am still learning.

Darcy..take it from me..do liquids tomorrow, your esophagus just went through a major work out. I had the same thing 3 weeks ago and and did not do liquids the next day like my Dr. instructed me to do .. and boy do I wish I did..I'm still suffering bouts of my esophagitis...it has not been a pleasant 3 weeks for me..been to the Dr. 3 times in the last week and a half. But Congratulations on being a true bandster now :D ha ha!

I hope you feel better in the morning..take it easy and slow!

Thanks Michelle... I will definitely follow your advice! My insurance has changed and my coverage for band related healthcare is questionable and will be zip after the 1st of the year... don't want to do anything that will cause a visit to the doc. I had a problem with BBQ ribs once before... but I just had to take one bite...lol... no more ribs for this bandster!

Hello Fellow Bandsters,

I just found this website yesterday and I'm already finding it very helpful. I should certainly know what PBing is (I'm assuming it is like vomiting?), but I'm not 100% sure when I see it what it means. I do know what sliming is, just not sure of PBing, could someone please explain?

I was just banded in Port Huron, MI this past Tuesday (December 7th). I THINK I'm doing okay. Believe it or not, until today, my biggest complaint was my lungs... I couldn't get a deep breath without a lot of pain in my chest, but I'm sure it was just the pressure of that gas used in surgery. I'm finally able to take a deep breath, but now I do feel it in my stomach area and my port area when I take a deep breath. Today I'm in more pain with my stomach and port area also. My stomach seems to be really swollen/bloated. I sure hope this goes away..... do you ever get to a point where you don't feel the band and forget that you even have it? Or are you physically aware of it constantly?

Thanks, I look forward to sharing this journey with the people on this board, you sure seem like a friendly bunch!

Debbie

I think subconsciously, you're always aware it's there, however, yes, not too far off, you'll forget it's even there. Then, you'll take one bite too many or one bite too big and it will remind you. :D

Debbie, you will get to the point that you don't physically feel the band in you - except when you eat. Right now you're still healing and that is why you feel it.

Darcy - so sorry you had to go through this. Unfortunately, I've gone through it many times. I guess I'm a bad bandster. But at least now you know that the band doesn't mess around. When the band speaks we had best listen!

I hope you are feeling better now.

Nancy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
