Hey y'all I was just sleeved on Friday!! I woke up in excruciating pain and very nauseous. It was also uncomfortable because even though I had nothing to drink in more than 24hours at that point, I had to pee every 45 minutes because of the IV

Walking was the worst but definitely makes you feel better right after you sit back down. Although they never said it was ok or not, I also found relief by gently laying on my stomach in bed for 3-4 minutes

It is very hard to move easily without help or sit up. It kind of reminds me of going to the gym and workin out abs and you're sore the next day

While in the hospital I had 4 of morphine every 3 hours on the dot!! The pain and gas pain for me was bad. I asked for Benadryl 50 mg IV because I started to feel uncomfortable and wanted to sleep. I'm a nurse so I was able to communicate best with what I need

Today, 3 days out I feel much better. I'm able to shower, and slowly drink Protein shakes again and move from the clear liquid diet

It's so worth it. I lost 7 pounds since Friday

It's good to hear you are feeling better! My surgery is next week and I'm so nervous & unsure of how I will cope with the pain post-surgery.

I wouldn't even think of Benadryl - was that more to help you sleep?

The part I like about your post is the "it's so worth it" sentence! :)

Congrats!!!! Mines was 09/08! Felt bubbles every time I drink something. I've been doing the GasX strips and I got a "waist trainer" just to hold my stomach also helped with the gas pains. I sleep on my stomach but for the most part a lot of us do... as tolerated. I'm so happy for you!

I had surgery on 09/07. Also had a rough start. Today is much better. I am thankful for a little relief. I have really been struggling since I've been home. Congrats on your surgery.

Hey everyone!! Wow I am so interested in everyone's progress. It goes to show you how different everyone is. I could not even imagine using a waist trainer right now. I would easily throw up!

Yes the Benadryl was to help me sleep. I was so uncomfortable and the morphine alone was not enough. The last dose they served it with 50 mg of IV Benadryl and I knocked out

For me the pain was temporary, after about a week it started to die down and I started feeling like a human again. Off my pain medicine and out and about. Being up and walking around, visiting with family and friends, even going to the store helped.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
