So here I am, sleeved 9/8/16 was 274 at 5'7'. Today i am 174. Size 11/12 is getting baggy. I have no eating restrictions at this point. Nothing has ever made me sick. I ate a whole sleeve of Girl Scout Cookies the other day. I do work out 3x a week, and I am very active. Still losing very slowly at this point. Hoping to lose 34lbs more. What are people losing at this point. Mine seems to go in spurts, nothing for 2weeks than 5-6 ponds fall off.

I am about 11lbs from my goal weight of 145 lbs. started with a weight of 222lbs. At this point I am losing .5 or 1 pound a week, never going over 1.5 lbs weekly loss. I got sleeved 9/13/16. Losing tons of hair [emoji52] I hope it slows down soon, my doctor said it will go away when I stop losing weight.

I was sleeved 9/27 so far down 55 lbs feeling great but now I'm getting hungry. I need to stay on track. I feel that I could eat a lot more than 3 ounces and sometimes I do. I reach my Protein most days and exercise like crazy. Just wondering on the average how many ounces you eat per meal. Thank you!

Congratulations on your weight loss[emoji322][emoji323] I was sleeved 9/13/16 and at this point I am consuming about 8oz of food per meal. There are days when I can eat all 8 oz and there are days that I can't.

Thank you for replying! I was overwhelmed with guilt because there's some days I could eat more than 3-4 oz and I was stalling. I didn't take in considetation that I've been exercising for about an hour or so doing cardio and weights (4/week) at the gym and hiking or long walks (5 miles or so) on the weekends. So my appetite would increase but I'm still trying to stay at about 4 0z and eat every 3-4 hours. Hopefully I am start to lose some more! I need about 50 more pounds

@jenejen262 AMAZING GREAT JOB!

Anyone have an update on Hair growth? Sleeved 9/6/16. 267 start 165 now! I have lost so much hair. It has finally slowed down. It could just be because there isn't much left to lose. Just wondering where September sleevers are with Hair loss. I've read from vets that it takes 1-2 yrs to grow back....

I am an August 30th sleever, but cruise the September threads alot. I too lost a huge amount of hair around the 4-5 month mark, but have noticed it starting to thicken back up at the crown again in the last few weeks.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this group & site and am looking for advice. I had my sleeve done on Sept. 26th and I'm feeling great. I have my 9-month post-open next week, so I had some labs done to check my progress. My doc had me on a prescription strength Vitamin D (15,000 units once a week for 3 months) so she wants to make sure I'm in a good place. It seems that I'm a little anemic now though (iron was 40, hemoglobin was 11) so she ordered 65mg of Iron twice a day. I've been on it for a week and, of course, I'm constipated! The interests suggest eating more Fiber and drinking more Water, but there aren't any suggestions for those of us who are living with a tiny stomach! They all say, "it's best to get your iron from what you eat" Well, no duh! But my inane is what's caused the dang anemia to begin with! So, have any of you been through this and can share some tips? Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I was sleeved 9/6/16 and I ended up with low Iron. Mine was at 11. I was taking all my supplements, spacing the Calcium and iron every two hours. I still ended up with a severe iron deficiency which according to my surgeon it's not common for sleeve procedure. I had no energy. I ended up having iron infusions. Worked. I have a ton of energy. This was 2 months ago and my numbers are up. I get more blood work done and to see if I need another infusion. You may need to do that. Good luck

Hi! I, too, am a little bummed I didn't lose more, but I started menopause/perimenopause in February, and it completely slowed my loss to a snail's pace. Not making excuses -- hitting the gym, walking, tracking food, getting in Vitamins, Water, and Protein. I'd say I'm eating around 1200-1400 calories a day 85% of the time, but I lose when I keep it at 1000-1200. It's hard to stick to 1000-1200!

My surgery anniversary is in two weeks (9/19), so I'm doing the pre-op diet starting today to see if I can lose the last 14 lbs and get to an even 200. My long-term goal is 170-180, but have made peace that may take another two years to get there. My NUT and surgeon are totally fine with my results, which kind of surprised me. I AM bummed I have not lost like the people who posted the first few months, dropping 75-100 lbs within 3-4 months. That was not me, but I'm still thrilled with the surgery and the second chance at a healthy life it has afforded me.

Surgery 9/19, 282.1 starting weight.

Currently 9/6 214.1.

Anniversary goal, 200.

Long-term goal, 180/170.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
