Sleeved 09/06/16. Just found this area of the app! Was looking for sleevers close to my surgery date. Can anyone post a liquid intake schedule? I'm trying to get my 64oz of Water a day and it is really hard for me. If I drink to much I feel hungry or sometimes slight nausea. I put some flavor in my Water because since surgery plain water hasn't sat well in my stomach. Thank you in advance!

I was sleeved 9/2 pre op weight 197 sw 189 today 166 I'm feeling great and my clothes are getting baggy:) I eat egg whites for Breakfast with veggies, sometimes a slice of spam, or turkey bacon. I love breakfast!! lunch might be cottage cheese, yogurt, fat free Soup or a string cheese. dinner is usually some kind of meat. chicken, salmon, beef, pork, tuna. I like mexican food so I put chile Verde on my eggs it's so good. My favorite is a chuck roast or tri tip in the crock pot. I found that always having some kind of meat cooked in the fridge or boiled eggs helps me as a go to if I get the munchies. My portions are really small and I have 2 shakes a day with 30 calorie almond milk. I struggle with Water I might get an average of 40-50 oz a day. My dessert is usually once a week and it's a sugar free chocolate/vanilla pudding or a sugar free fudge popsicle. My crunchy snack is chile pork grinds with cream cheese. Don't knock it till you try it, It's pretty good. Lol oh I also made chicken strips with a light sprinkle of shake n bake. Hope this helps someone. I've lost a total of 31 lbs in 2 months so I feel I'm doing something right. I exercise 3 to 4 days a week too nothing too strenuous just walking anywhere from 4 - 6 miles with my friend it's in hour and half of girl chat????

@@twins2016, how long stalled? My loss has slowed a lot the past two months; some a combination of bad habits that snuck in over the holidays, and some I think just due to losing a good chunk of lbs and the body adjusting.

How is everyone doing now that we're all about 3-4 months out? I feel great, but no energy surge I heard about. I'm still on my BP rx's though, and PCP wants me to stay on them until my next follow-up in early March.

I started the gym 2-4x a week about a month ago and have noticed a jumpstart to losing whenever I go, so that's certainly motivational!

I'm hovering at -55 lost at a little over 4 months out. Is this in the normal range or on the lighter side? I feel like it's the lighter side -- have some people killing it and down -75 in the same time range. I know we shouldn't compare, but it would be reassuring to hear I'm at least in the normal range. My Nutritionist said yes, doing fine, tweak the diet and do more exercise, which I agreed with. Guess I just need to hear it from other sleevers!

Is this thread still active?

Let's revive it! I have been almost stalled since the holidays, but still losing .5 lbs per week on average, so not a total loss. My slowed weighloss coincided with when I stopped measuring and using myfitnesspal. I realised I'm still vulnerable to losing focus when there is a lot going on in my life, which has been the case lately.

Yesterday I jumped on my bike for the first time in many weeks, and today I'm starting to use myfitness pal again :)

How are you doing @@Jacqueline52?

Hi. Thanks for reviving this thread! I had my surgery on the 17/09/2016 and have lost 40 lbs so far. A bit disappointed as expected to have lost more by now. I have been reading posts in different sections on this app and lots of references to drinking more Water and increasing Protein seem to spur on further weight loss. Will try this but need to force myself to drink. Have you experienced anything like this?

I definitely need to increase my Water intake. I've been struggling to get in the recommended amount of Protein, but my bloodwork came back with no deficiencies at the 4 month mark. I should focus on this more though, and definitely I'm amping up the exercise now.

I know it can be discouraging if we compare our weightloss ot others that have lost more at our stage, but I focus instead that it's a journey, not a race, and I'm happy as long as I'm heading in the right direction. Would you have been down 40 lbs today without the surgery? I bet not ;) We'll get to our goals eventually! :)

Hello. Sleeved 9/21/16. I, too, have been struggling with making sure I get my Water in. I've also been more lax with my eating, but have started working on both those things this week I feel like I'm getting back on track.

My weight loss feels slow and I'm in a bouncy stage right now. Down 2, up 1, up 1, down 3, down 1, up 2, etc. --you get the picture. The overall trend is down, but it's slooooow. Since surgery, I'm down almost 30 pounds, since August, I'm down almost 50.

Since Christmas I'm down about 5.

But honestly, I'm happy. I'm so much more comfortable in my body and in my clothes. Slow and steady right? :D

@@Hellya sleeved 09/06/16.

Water is a challenge for me. It's something that we are always going to have to think about.

I have two things that have worked. I a 20oz Water container that I fill up 3x's a day or more. Rarely more. I also have about 16 oz of milk a day. It helps me keep track.

I also have a 64oz water jug that I leave filled up in the mornings and I take all of my water from it throughout the day to measure how much I need and have had. Helps me not to think about it.

Flavor your water with lemon or mint.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
