Surgery in 10 days and anxious

I'm having the bypass surgery on Sept 15th and have been having some anxiety over everything. From the pre Ops appointments, to the pre op diet, to which Protein drinks to drink, to insurance stuff, to time off for work stuff, and then everyday life things. All of it together is getting me feeling overwhelmed, so much that I'm having trouble sleeping (which is unusual for me). It just seems to all be happening so fast all of a sudden.

This is a common feeling before surgery. I suggest two things.

1. Make sure that you take a good before photo of yourself so that you have something to compare it with after surgery. Many of us do not truly see how obese we are prior to surgery and as a result cannot see the amount of weight we lost after surgery. You will need a means to evaluate you success. More than just the pounds that you lost.

2. Walk around 30 minutes each day (or equivalent exercise) until your surgery. This will help you recovery process go smoothly and will reduce the pain that you might experience from the surgery.
