Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

I'm pissed!

Recommended Posts

You know, I busted my ARSE yesterday getting that walk/run in.

I did not set out to do 26 miles. It just so happened that's what I accomplished. Was it hard? Damn right it was. Would I have stopped and grabbed an Ubër back to my starting point of I needed to? You BET! But every mile, every time I considered stopping I'd challenge myself to just get to "...." And so on.

Today I'm out shopping and run into a friend. Our daughters happen to be best friends, as well- since Kindergarten. They even traveled to France together in March. I digress...

I'm telling her about my accomplishment yesterday. Do I get a high five way to go? No. I instead am treated to a look of disbelief that I did that -and in the amount of time it took me (5 hours). I'm told that is what marathon runners do. Wtf? Do you think I've been sitting at home these months letting the weight fall off on its own??? Perhaps the miles and miles of walking the neighborhood not to mention the treadmill were in my imagination.

So to the friend who was incredulous at my accomplishment ( and she is a marathon runner) I sayto hell with you!

Rant over.

What you did WAS a great accomplishment and I am sorry that your friend did not react more appropriately in the way your accomplishment deserved. No one can approach or understand your accomplishment more than you, though. Forget about her reaction and plan a reward for yourself. Be lavish - you deserve it.

Thank goodness you don't need her validation to know that your accomplishment was awesome.

That said, she can kiss my less fat ass right after she kisses your less fat ass. :D

I just adore you sometimes. Shall we form a bariatric line of asses?

A 26 mile walk is worth a huge celebration!

Great job-I'm sure I couldn't handle that.

Ignore the stupid marathon runner-she obviously can't appreciate what you accomplished!

Gag. Running is so not my thing but I'll applaud those who do it. I'm amazed by people who can run/walk that far! You're awesome and she's a synonym for a female dog. No offense to the dogs.

That can't be pretty. A lot of bariatric butts are saggy.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
