Yes I counted all Fluid towards my Fluid intake....water, Protein shakes, broth, Jello....etc. You can always ask your NUT. Some of them say to not combine them, but some of them do....Mine was one that said it was fine to include Protein Shakes, but sometimes you just need to do what you think is right.

Hey all

When you drink Protein shakes, do you count them in your Water consumption?

I'm guessing this is how some of you get your Protein and Water in each day.

I'm falling short on both.

Yes, I definitely counted all fluids. Especially early out.

My nut does not let me count Protein in my Fluid intake. It gets easier. Although drinking (maybe it be protein, Water, or G2) is seriously like a full time job. I'm almost 7 months post op and I meet all my goals.

Ok a second question- if you were to add Protein to your Water bottle- would u treat it as a - meal or a snack or a beverage.

For Instance enjoy my egg at breakfast- and then I'm not to eat for 3hrs. But if I also made a Protein shake to sip over the morning would that be considered drinking or eating in your opinion?

Happy to count the calories but would not like to be 'grazing' between meals.

My Nut. says after week 3 only drink non calories beverages between meals. So drinks with Protein counts as a meal.

My Nut also said grazing is how people gain back weight or stop loosing. 30 min incriminates of food intake only. if you cant finish it in 30 mins put it away and try again in a few hours

I don't worry about it. It sounds like you are overthinking this. Just track the protein and fluids. To me it doesn't matter what you call it.

I drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast, then eat lunch and then dinner. During the day I also have a lift Protein Drink. My question is Monday I will start week 7 and my calories are around 577 but 250 of that is the Protein Drinks. Am I getting enough food calories? I don't want my body to go into starvation mode and hold on to everything. I get so sick to my stomach though trying to get the Water down all day and the two meals is all I can eat. Any thoughts?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
